@_1031__@professoranne i believe that while commercials can help spread information, they can also be detrimental as they are a product of capitalism. it seems that the main purpose of commercials for medications is to increase sales rather than increase accessibility for those who need the medication.
#SOWK654661681@professoranne I know that we discussed schizophrenia in previous classes, but i’ve been thinking about it more lately. i overheard one of my coworkers talking about an injection for schizophrenia and was wondering if any of my classmates know more about that!
@natlearnsalot@professoranne I don’t have much experience with OCD but as a person with anxiety disorder i know that COVID has increased my symptoms daily. The paranoia and consistent worry about the pandemic has increased panic attacks and other somatic symptoms.
This is such a powerful statement. Racism is alive in well in this country. Social workers have a duty to dismantle the institutionalized and socialized racism, oppression, and prejudice. #SUsocialwork
@SWsoldierKD_SU Thank you for sharing this! It's sad that these measures need to be taken because of others' selfishness. How great that the program was able to find a solution!
This is a perfect demonstration of the argument against cancelling student debt. College has become a business more beneficial to the administrators than the students. #SUSocialWork
Texans are suffering during this climate crisis. Their houses aren’t insulated for extreme cold and they are relying on one type of power source to keep their electricity on. #SUSocialWork
Rolling electricity outages are now happening throughout Texas.
These are controlled blackouts—designed to last anywhere from 15 mins to an hour (but in reality last longer)—that force electricity demand offline to protect the grids from total collapse

@SWsoldierKD_SU What a great article, Keith! I’m happy to see more social workers partnering with our government. This will mean more advocacy for the working class.
@makayla_leeSU@linzy_ann_ Makayla I agree with all of this!! I always think about the debt to income ratio in our field. I hope they can work something out to relieve some of these loans.
This quote is truly empowering and fully encompasses the meaning of social change. We social workers need to continuously educate ourselves on black history. Not only the changes that have succeeded, but also the ones that still need to be made.
It’s not your place to tell anyone when or if they can experience fear. Her fear and trauma are real. I’m tired of this trope of calling women liars and claiming their traumatic stories are fake. Listen to her. To us.
This is the latest manipulative take on the right.
They are manipulating the fact that most people don’t know the layout the Capitol complex.
We were all on the Capitol complex - the attack wasn’t just on the dome.
The bombs Trump supporters planted surrounded our offices too.
@makayla_leeSU The way that the healthcare system has treated people of color is truly sickening. Not to mention black women having a higher maternal morbidity rate. Their illnesses, injuries, and predisposed conditions go overlooked and ignored.
