S&P just hit a new all-time high.
Wall Street is popping champagne, calling it a “recovery” and “risk-on rebound.”
Meanwhile: CPI just spiked to +3.3% YoY (biggest jump in years, energy +10.9% in a month).
UMich consumer sentiment crashed to 47.6 — an ALL-TIME LOW in 74 years of data.
This isn’t strength. It’s the same old story: the asset economy is completely divorced from the real one.
Portfolios up. Paychecks wrecked by gas, groceries, and rent.
Two Americas. One’s winning. The other’s just trying to survive the month.
Wake up.

“Imagine spending A billion to be culturally irrelevant”
This guy just dropped some serious bomba with some very choice words about our club, our fanbase and our journey to be where we are today.
I fully salute it….almost brought tears to my eyes hearing this. 🥹
I had the chance to review the big breakthroughs in biotech for 2024, a fun and enthralling conversation with @DKThomp, on his Plain English podcast
—Lenacapavir, @ScienceMagazine breakthrough of the year
—Organ Clocks

Recently, I had a conversation with @dbanyard , MD, MS, MBA, Founder & CEO of @SayenzaBio , who is on a mission to unlock a new universe of medical applications by harnessing the power of body fat to produce stem cell therapeutics for regenerative medicine applications.
As a plastic surgeon, Derek observed how inefficiencies in the operating room during plastic surgery procedures contributed to increased costs for surgeons and increased risk of complications for patients. Now, he’s targeting the source of the inefficiency by building a medical device which aims to automate fat processing, reducing processing time from 45 mins to 15 mins.
Based on current practices, however, body fat processed during plastic surgery procedures is grossly underutilized and it is often discarded post-processing, despite being the largest source of adult stem cells in the body.
But Derek saw an opportunity to add an additional function to his device: creating stem cell therapeutics. By creating these stem cell therapeutics, plastic surgeons and physicians will be able to utilize the same body fat, most popularly used for Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) and Breast Augmentations, for regenerative medicine applications in wound healing, hair restoration, skin rejuvenation, and myocardium restoration (heart tissue).
During our conversation, Derek and I discussed:
- The Genesis of Sayenza Biosciences
- What Are Stem Cells, and How Can Fat Be Used For Regenerative Medicine?
- Current Methods for Fat Processing
- Sayenza Biosciences’s Device
- Common Applications of Stem Cell Therapeutics
- Emerging Medical Specialties Adopting Stem Cell Therapies
- Derek’s Source of Motivation
- Derek’s Founder-Market Fit
🏯 Cultural and Professional Connections: Beyond the conferences, I’m looking forward to immersing myself in Japan’s unique mix of tradition and technology.
We are proud to announce that @SayenzaBio has been accepted into the highly selective @CreativeDLab for the '24/25 Biomedical Engineering cohort in Vancouver!
@Dr_mac2 I thought it was cuz I drank old coffee and didn’t eat breakfast. Turned out I had appendicitis that was about to burst. Got a CT while I was in the ED and learned I had a hiatal hernia..
Just a little food for thought
@Dr_mac2 Bro - I’ve been on the H2 blockers/PPIs since undergrad. I can’t quit spicy. During residency, I developed abdominal pain during a 36-hr call shift.
🚀 Exciting News! DONATE NOW to endow the Ferdinand Ofodile Lecture on Diversity in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, in collaboration with @ASPS_News We need $100,000 to endow this landmark lecture, securing its place as an annual event at PSTM! https://t.co/GBoJ5fTfO5
I had a great time today discussing all things fat and regenerative medicine with the infamous surgeon to the stars, Dr. John Layke of @plastixdocs on the Forever Young Podcast.
We discussed my journey, all things #nanofat, and how @SayenzaBio is going to revolutionize the #aesthetics and #regenerativemedicine markets with our game-changing suite of platform technologies.
Stay tuned!
