@JSheltzer Then why not get dissertations pubmed indexed instead? I see publications as a peer reviewed venue not only for negative results as one of the objections but also a vast pool of potential ideas that most likely won't be followed up on, since they don't have the necessary outreach
Vaccines save lives. Nuclear is low-carbon. Everything is chemistry. Correlation is not causation. It's the dose that makes the poison.
If facts hurt your feelings, you need new feelings, not new facts.
Double Preprint Alert!
Together with @LabNikel we investigated synthetic C1 assimilation in Pseudomonas putida and its potential application in co-substrate free lignin valorisation systems.
@LabNikel@OscarPuiggene@AIBNatUQ Both works complement each other and showcase the potential of biological C1 assimilation for CO2 fixation and more sustainable bioprocess for a circular bioeconomy.
Looking for a motivated https://t.co/krFCpwmVb5. student in biotech, and microbiology! Join our ALE project @AIBNatUQ to improve our new carbon-efficient Pseudomonas putida strain. Ideal for students with skills in microbial genetics, molecular biology, & bioprocessing.
This is a great example that such open discussions don't have to be frightening to students but encouraging instead. Thanks for sharing @UriAlonWeizmann!
It is always great to know that there are so many groups in science allowing open discussions not only about the work but also about your own wellbeing.
PhD students often suffer from such feelings like being stuck or lost in their project.
Just did a group meeting of a PhD student in the cloud. It takes courage to say I'm stuck, confused, discouraged. This vulnerability elicited solidarity and support from the group, and a flood of new ideas and hope. It was gratifying for everyone.
🌟 Two Postdoc positions available at @UWAresearch! Join our Synthetic Microbiology Lab and make an impact on global plastic pollution or explore the fascinating world of ultra-rapid microbial growth of Vibrio natriegens. 🦠🌊🧬
Deadline: June 10! Don’t miss out! 📅
This week, we had a special guest at @AIBNatUQ. @PabloINik was presenting the work of his group on biofluorination with P. putida. While being part of his C1 taskforce, it was great seeing more of the other side of his research.
It was great having you here Pablo!
