Motion smoothing was off — the soap opera effect was gone. Picture mode was switched from Vivid to Filmmaker Mode — colors looked natural instead of oversaturated. Sharpness was at zero instead of maxed out. The eco dimmer was disabled — the panel was finally running at full brightness. ACR tracking was off. The microphone was disabled. The autoplay previews built from his own viewing data were gone.

Same TV. Same living room. Same $1,500 panel he'd been staring at for 3 years.

But for 3 years, he'd been watching a demo-mode showroom picture, on a TV quietly logging everything he watched — while the actual television he paid for sat one settings menu away the entire time.

The TV was never broken. It was just never set up. It came configured to sell his data and impress him in a store, not to actually watch movies at home.

Now he checks every setting on every new device before he watches anything on it.

He has said he wanted to defund the police about a million times and demonized law enforcement

Yeah I wonder why the families don’t want him there. The bigger question is how the hell did we get here in the 1st place?
