Tried to ELI5 #ProRep today to my kiddos. @janetrfraser introduced me to the food analogy. FPTP: if we have 2 votes for spicy noodles, 1 vote for sushi, 1 vote for fried rice, 1 vote for soup => everybody has to order spicy noodles. ProRep means everyone just get what they want.

Truly, madly, deeply loving the in depth political conversations happening at @subcultureatCC tonight. This is what engagement looks like, regardless the outcome. #vanpoli with @CambieReport@DearCityCouncil and @homing_bird
@gzlfb I think it’s pretty valuable to understand the job you’re applying for. Why wouldn’t you take the tutorial if you want to learn and be good at the game?
I wonder which of the candidates for #vanelxn18 have attended one or more meetings of the various bodies/boards they’re running for, and for what reason? #vanpoli
@DBrennanYVR Not sure it matters, I rather they had a real regular lives when they didn't run, seems to be what people dig about me when I do every day things still. It's a funny response when I'm going to LD and see a response forgetting I'm a Candidate for a moment or two.
I've been attending the Park Board meetings since February. A great opportunity to understand the issues and scope of what the board does. Really helped when came time to represent @kensimformayor and the @NPAVancouver team. #vanelxn18
@DBrennanYVR Ironically I have attended both Council & School Board meetings, but not Park Board. I guess 'fresh eyes' and 'no preconceptions' could be seen as an advantage?
@DBrennanYVR Thanks for the question my friend, many many meetings. Different contexts; some related to my work as an advisory committee member, some as a supporter of the Access without fear policy, and many as a fresh voices member and doing advocacy around youth-in care housing
