Current climate plans are based on a mistaken belief:
That, through incremental change, we can stop a complex system from crashing. But complex systems don’t work like this. They steadily absorb stress, then suddenly flip. We don’t know how close the tipping points might be.
COP coming to Glasgow. Leaders staying at Gleneagles Hotel & 20Tesla cars (£100K each) bought to ferry them 75km back & forth. Gleneagles has 1 Tesla charging station, so Malcolm Plant Hire contracted to supply Diesel Generators to recharge Tesla’s overnight. Couldn't make it up.
From a well respected friend and intensivist/A&E consultant who is currently in northern Italy:
1/ ‘I feel the pressure to give you a quick personal update about what is happening in Italy, and also give some quick direct advice about what you should do.

Remember:
1. The oceans are still being killed.
2. Forests still face total doom.
3. Fertile soil is still disappearing.
4. Megafauna still risk extermination.
5. Insects are still vanishing.
6. Climate chaos is still inevitable.
7. Extinction is still now.
It's still not news.
