@gjb1966 @SofisticatedApe @JohnBishop100 @KwasiKwarteng @ByDonkeys They did try it on other parties' MPs and they did say no. It's all in the video which I'm sure you watched.
@IsaacDu60789693 @alexsalvinews@adinross Nowhere in Romania's constitution does it grant the US President, or any other foreign head of state, the power to pardon anyone convicted in Romania.
@DaveMUFC___@leafhouseee @SynthNscifi @EdClarets1973 @fesshole Probably not a good idea to be tackling pronouns when you don't know your verbs and nouns yet.
@Biginabox@Snial@simonharris_mbd So we agree, metric units are also based on the world around us. If something in *my* world is 10mm, why is that less valid as a reference than something in *your* world that is 1 inch?
@Biginabox@Snial@simonharris_mbd What on earth is an "analogue unit"? If you mean imperial units, all of them are legally defined by metric units. An inch isn't approximately 25.4mm, it's exactly 25.4mm.
@Biginabox@Snial@simonharris_mbd Can you expand on "invisibly scientific"? And are you aware that imperial units are defined by metric units? I wasn't aware that people in Germany, Vietnam, Botswana, Canada and Ecuador can't read analogue clocks and have no imagination.
@Biginabox@Snial@simonharris_mbd Clearly I do have references I can relate to. I can't relate to my height being 5'11", my finger tips being 1" 3/16 long or my car icing up at 32F. They aren't units I use and understand. Why are you telling me I don't know my own references when I quite obviously do?
@Biginabox@Snial@simonharris_mbd I've given you several bodily references I can use and understand. How is my finger tip being 1 & 3/16 inches useful to me when I know it as 30mm? How many times do I have to say we have different references and that's ok? You're not making measurements any easier for me.
@Biginabox@Snial@simonharris_mbd As an experiment I've just measured my finger tips, they're 30mm long which I understand and can easily work with or 1 and 3/16 inches which I don't understand and would struggle to quickly do maths with. If I needed to x 3 that would be 30mm x 3 or (1 x 3) + (3/16 x 3)
@Biginabox@Snial@simonharris_mbd I find imperial units alienating because I don't understand them, all of my points of reference are in metric. I know I'm 1.8m tall, I know a kilo is 1 litre of water and what a litre of water looks like, I know 30C is hot, 0C is cold. Our references are different and that's ok.
@Biginabox@Snial@simonharris_mbd It's about which unit of measurement you're used to and understand, I don't use imperial very often so I don't understand it and can't visualise the units. That's as deep as it goes.
@Biginabox@Snial@simonharris_mbd I can't visualise imperial measurements. If someone says 6 feet I have to calculate 6 x 30cm to have any idea what they're talking about. I only know a pint as "a bit more than half a litre". Fahrenheit I have no chance with, I always have to use a calculator.
@IISheldonII @Evan62749284 @CharlotteBirk@sm74737@BBCWorld That's not the Commonwealth. It's also not NATO. And it doesn't include South Africa. This is the Commonwealth https://t.co/IL5BBcv6DC
@IISheldonII @Evan62749284 @CharlotteBirk@sm74737@BBCWorld The Commonwealth isn't a defensive pact whatsoever and entirely unrelated to NATO. By that logic NATO would have fought China in 1962 with India.
