FM wants to make PSU banks cool for Gen Z, but doesn’t want to make banking a workplace Gen Z would choose.

Ask any kid, they’d prefer LIC, GIC or state govt jobs over banking.

United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) calls for bank strikes on September 11, followed by a three-day strike from September 28 to 30, and an indefinite strike beginning October 26, 2026.

The bank strikes have been called for the implementation of the five-day banking week, as agreed in the Settlement/Joint Note signed on March 8, 2024, the withdrawal of the government's Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, the modification of the incentive scheme through bilateral talks, and the resolution of pending residual issues
