Absolute horror show in Sensex today, falling close to 2500 points, more than 3% in the first few minutes of CAS.
These are India's largest 30 companies, which are trading like memecoins.
A $4 trillion market has become a laughing stock with the introduction of CAS.
Today was not even expiry. Still we saw wild Nifty move. While yesterday we closed at day high today we closed at day low. Teething problems continue in CAS?
@_anujsinghal#CAS#StockMarket#Nifty
A stunning statement which proves CAS in current form is neither good for investors nor traders
"Investors will eventually stop trading in ETFs between 3:15pm and 3:30pm if they cannot see accurate pricing", a mutual fund official told Mint on condition of anonymity.
But SEBI told you that CAS is good for passive funds and ETFs.
This article highlights how CAS is even creating challenges for pricing of some ETFs during 3:15pm to 3:30pm.
All 8 demands that the Reservation Reform Movement is making to the government.
@neha_laldas@ajeetbharti@talk2anuradha
1. National Commission for General Category (NCGC): Set up a National Commission for General Category (NCGC) to represent and address General Category concerns.
2. Creamy Layer in SC/ST: Introduce a Creamy Layer in SC/ST reservation to ensure the benefits of reservation reach every community.
3. One Family, One Reservation, One Time: Introduce the principle of One Family, One Reservation and One Time Reservation for equitable distribution of benefits.
4. Minimum Qualifying Cut-Off & Open Category Seats: Mandate minimum qualifying cut-off marks and ensure seats remain available for the Open Category.
5. Empirical Review & Sunset Clause: Publish a White Paper reviewing 75 years of reservation to examine which communities have benefited, to what extent, and whether objectives have been achieved. Introduce a Sunset Clause with periodic review.
6. No Discussion of Private Sector Reservations: No reservation in the private sector; employment in the private sector should remain merit- and competency-based.
7. UGC Rollback / Equal Inclusion: Roll back the UGC Equity Regulations or include General Categories (GCs) within their ambit.
8. SC/ST Act Review & Safeguards Against Misuse: Review the SC/ST Act with mandatory preliminary inquiry, bail for non-serious charges, and safeguards against fake cases and misuse.
@NITIAayog@PMOIndia
So one day they'll cancel the buy orders & the IEP collapses. And the next day they'll not cancel those orders and price sustains and the premiums move and catch up to it.
Karo sattabaazi!
#DelinkCAS
This is what happens when an Act meant for protection is allegedly turned into a money-making tool.
Instead of stopping its misuse, the government is increasing compensation by 40%.

SICK!🚨
These visuals from the students protests are not just horrifying , they are a sickening exhibition of modi govt’s brutality
Protesting students are describing pure savagery
“Police beat up even an injured patient who had a fracture” - protester
Why is MODi’s police treating general category kids as if they are terrorists ?
Don’t our kids have right to protest? Like Dalits have? Muslims have?
Since last night, people have been sharing so many disturbing videos from Jantar Mantar, but they are being suppressed by both Meta and X.
Absolutely shameful @DelhiPolice
This guy made SC/ST act more worse in 2018.
- No preliminary inquiry before FIRs.
- Police will take no approval before arrest.
- No anticipatory bail to the accused.
Nobody has betrayed Savarn Hindus more than Narendra Modi. Never forget, Never forgive.
Indian banks fixed the problem of the last decade. The one they have now is on the other side of the balance sheet.
Tamal Bandyopadhyay lists the positive & negative side of Indian banks quite well today in Business Standard.
Positive: Every listed Indian bank, private and state-owned, reported net NPAs below 1% in the June quarter. Gross NPAs are ₹3.7 trillion, down 11.76% year-on-year. Net NPAs are ₹84,293 crore, down 9.51%. Net profit grew 19.01% to nearly ₹1.10 trillion, the highest ever. Provisioning fell 41.61% to ₹25,448 crore. SBI, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank together account for half of industry net profit.
Negative: Credit growth is big but not matched by low cost CASA balances. Credit grew 17.48% and deposits 11.73%.
Casa ratios fell at most banks. RBL Bank went from 32.5% of deposits a year ago to 25.2%. CSB Bank from 23.49% to 19.41%. Falling Casa raises the cost of deposits, and both SBI and HDFC Bank recorded year-on-year NIM contraction.
Six banks saw their deposit books shrink sequentially.
JUST ₹57 LAKHS TO RIG THE SENSEX
The Sensex closing price is decided in a small room where almost nobody trades. On 13 August, somebody walked in with just Rs 57 lakhs and moved it 240 points.

Income-tax scrutiny has a sequence and understanding the sequence itself is part of an effective defence. 📑⚖️
A typical scrutiny trail:
Return filed u/s 139
⬇️
Intimation u/s 143(1)
⬇️
Notice u/s 143(2) — selection for scrutiny
⬇️
Notice / questionnaire u/s 142(1) — information, accounts & evidence
⬇️
Further enquiries / verification, wherever required
⬇️
Show Cause Notice — proposed additions/disallowances & opportunity to respond
⬇️
Assessment Order u/s 143(3)
⬇️
Demand Notice u/s 156 — only where tax, interest, penalty or other sum becomes payable
💡 The important distinction:
A notice u/s 143(2) is not a demand.
A notice u/s 142(1) is not an adverse finding.
Even a proposed addition in an SCN is not the final assessment.
The real success of scrutiny proceedings is not merely completion of assessment, it is when the proceedings conclude with no addition and NIL demand. 😄
Know the provision. Understand the stage. Respond accordingly.
