@MrFamilyOffice Seems like the middle is getting squeezed just like everything else. Most people are either just going with a boutique RIA or, if they really can justify it, going for a family office.
Idk I think that’s stupid mostly because artists can’t be expected to have some uniquely intelligent insight on world events. But on the other hand I could imagine a situation where an artist I liked shared some opinion I strongly disagreed with, that maybe I felt specifically affected my like and then no longer wanting to support them. Especially if this artist went beyond just sharing the opinion and actually supported the cause with money or attention some way.
@cryptosum_@exec_sum Ew, what type of founders try to venture invest in their competitors instead of crushing them, oh how far the tech world has fallen…
I think it’s just like college here the returns diminish the farther outside of the top 5 schools you go.
Once you start to get outside of the top 10 private schools it becomes a better investment to just move to a neighborhood with better public schools and invest that money in extracurriculars or side projects that let your kid build a portfolio of something to actually show.
@unusual_whales Let’s not even talk about the fact that oil companies were literally just worrying about how they were going to meet earnings estimates with the current oversupply in oil.
I’m no conspiracy theorist but the timing is… convenient
@exec_sum This doesn’t make sense to me, I feel like it’s usually glaringly obvious when a junior banker is underperforming and they get picked out pretty quick…
Is this just for like documentation? Fighting those employment lawsuits maybe?
@AdvisorJobs I mean modern portfolio theory is already more or less as good as it’s going to get, the job hasn’t been about investment strategy for a long time now.
It’s about relationship management, trust, and discretion. 3 things AI does not have.
@AdvisorJobs This is why it’s key to put yourself out there as much as possible even within your company, don’t just accept whatever manager or lead you are given. Reach out to other teams and departments, understand what they do, come off as competent, offer to help.
It compounds insanely
