This afternoon, #Kwibuka32 continued across our campuses in #Kigali. The activities began with the laying of a wreath at the Genocide Memorial monument located at Gikondo Campus, in honor of the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi.
The commemoration then continued at #KCEV formerly Camp Kigali, where a series of activities, including lectures, candle-lighting and testimonies are taking place in remembrance and reflection

The Inter Business Company brought a practical and interactive perspective to the session, showing how DNA work moves from theory into real-life application.
They highlighted its role in supporting laboratories covering the full DNA workflow, from sample collection to analysis.

The Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement (MINUBUMWE) informs the public that the #Kwibuka32 Commemoration Week is taking place from 7 to 13 April 2026.
The week will be marked by the following key activities:
- 7 April 2026: National Commemoration Ceremony at the @Kigali_Memorial, Walk to Remember, and Night Vigil at BK Arena
- 8 April 2026: International Conference on Genocide Prevention & IBUKA’s 30-Year Journey
- 9 April 2026: “Our Past” Initiative
- 11 April 2026: Commemoration at Nyanza-Kicukiro Genocide Memorial
- 13 April 2026: Closing of the Commemoration Week and remembrance of politicians who were killed for opposing the Genocide against the Tutsi at Rebero Genocide Memorial.
Members of the public are encouraged to take part in these activities to honor the victims, reflect on our history, and reaffirm our commitment to unity and resilience.

Today, during the Pandemic Fund Board Meeting, the agenda included several site visits to activities jointly implemented with Rwanda. A key highlight was the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the BSL-3 National Reference Veterinary Laboratory, a major milestone that will significantly strengthen pandemic preparedness for Rwanda and the broader region under the One Health approach.
