RB Dead-Zone is filled with question marks this year.
RB’s coming off injury:
- Cam Skattebo
- Quinshon Judkins
- Bucky Irving
- Jonathon Brooks
Potential Committee-Casualties:
- David Montgomery
- TreVeyon Henderson
Major Projections:
- Bhayshul Tuten
- Jadarian Price
Some of these guys will hit – but this is not a range I want to be relying on.
The solution?
Draft at least 1 RB in the first 2 rounds; have at least 1 “anchor.”
Gibbs, Bijan, CMC, JT, Cook, Achane, Saquon, Henry, Walker, Brown, Hampton, Jeanty.
Get at least 1 of them.
If not – double-tap 2 RB’s in RD3/4:
- Jeremiyah Love
- Travis Etienne
- Breece Hall
- D’Andre Swift
- Josh Jacobs
Get two of them.
Allow yourself to be selecting elite QB’s (namely Jalen Hurts; but also Jayden Daniels) in RD5.
Or a proven elite WR like Davante Adams – who has finished Top-15 in PPG in 10-consecutive seasons.
In your home leagues you will also have WR’s like Jaylen Waddle & Tee Higgins fall into this range.
Try to draft at least 2 RB’s through RD4 – so you can be drafting WR/QB in RD5.
You can add a cheap starter late as your RB3:
- Jaylen Warren
- Rico Dowdle
- Tony Pollard
- JK Dobbins
- RJ Harvey
& use your last bench picks on high-upside fliers:
- Rachaad White
- Jonah Coleman
- MarShawn Lloyd
- Braelon Allen
- Zach Charbonnet
Don’t fall into the dead-zone trap.
@JoestarJokic Saints & Spurs fan, can tell you absolutely nothing will compare to the 2018-19 NFC Championship. Spurs are young, this play practically slammed the door shut on Brees career. To add insult to injury, there was still a chance to win in OT and couldn’t capitalize.
@hndrxxmonster Castle in year two has a lot more responsibilities than Leonard had in year 2. I think Leonard was probably a slightly better defender but this is not a crazy comp at all.
Could argue that Castle’s defense would be elevated if his offensive role was an off ball wing.
My 2 cents on foul-baiting/flopping:
It’s always been perfectly within the rules to do it. But it’s always just been up to players to have the self-respect and integrity to not over-do it.
Like, honestly, a well-timed occasional strategic flop, I can accept.
But when it becomes a hallmark of your whole game, when you’re seeking it out every time or every other time you touch the ball…
That’s when sportsmanship is killed by gamesmanship. That’s when winning becomes completely divorced from ethics. That’s when the game becomes unwatchable.
That’s when the rules have to change.
When players can no longer be trusted to reasonably govern themselves, that’s when official governance has to be increased.
Same thing happens in all aspects of society, when you think about it. And that’s just unfortunate.
Something here has to change.
