Time to update my pinned tweet!
Hey hey! I'm DeafBitch because some irl abled called me a deaf bitch and I enjoyed it too much for it to go to waste!
I am a multiply disabled mid twenties marketing professional (who also consults on digital accessibility) 1/3
@easipetcare I paid £110 for my cats to be vaccinated and they had one vaccine and the second appointment was cancelled by you. We have to start again and they need to go to a cattery in early Jan. Can you sort this? We've tried calling and sorting this already. 😾
Anyone able to help our MD, @TashaWoodford give good #careeradvice for a remote work transgender person pursuing a #graphicdesign career in digital marketing.
Any training or internships recommended or groups to join?
@OttoSquire@2wheelsnot4 @CF_psychelist @charlie_baker23@IsabelleClement@Wheels4Well That's all you had to say. Thank you for the apology.
I don't look for arguments online, just my life is directly impacted by people who say off the cuff comments that people like you make and I end up having to defend why I have a driver's license.
@OttoSquire@2wheelsnot4 @CF_psychelist @charlie_baker23@IsabelleClement@Wheels4Well You said "a deaf person, less safe than someone who can here". This is incorrect. I've shown you that you were wrong. This is where you say "sorry, I shouldn't have said that" and then leave deaf people out of your conversation.

@OttoSquire@2wheelsnot4 @CF_psychelist @charlie_baker23@IsabelleClement@Wheels4Well I'm an accessibility expert. I did not use ableist language. I told *you* to learn how to Google.
You were ableist and rude about deaf people. You will apologise and admit your mistake. That's how someone who was genuinely concerned about safety would behave. Unless you're not.
@OttoSquire@2wheelsnot4 @CF_psychelist @charlie_baker23@IsabelleClement@Wheels4Well I was specifically addressing you. You have the ability to Google. I know this because someone who was unable to Google, would not be asserting facts on subjects they don't know about.
Don't start with me. Admit you were wrong and don't ever say something like that again.
@OttoSquire@2wheelsnot4 @CF_psychelist @charlie_baker23@IsabelleClement@Wheels4Well Maybe learn to Google.
Deaf people are *less* likely to get into a car accident because we don't perceive the world like hearing people. Idc about your argument re listening to music, but don't incl deaf people in your statements.
@banjosworld Yeah, I find this assumption odd. Like we're deaf so we have to overcompensate by using our other senses. I.e. if you blindfold someone, their brain gets better at processing sounds, smells and feelings. Now imagine a lifetime of that 😅
@OttoSquire @CF_psychelist @charlie_baker23@IsabelleClement@Wheels4Well This isn't true. As brains are neuroplastic we're able to use our other senses to be more observant than hearing people. I often see and feel things a lot quicker than hearing people hear/see/feel things. https://t.co/3KVG7BTJ2V
@CurrysServices please explain why I spent £30 for my washing machine to be delivered today and I've been told that it might come within 24 hrs. I'm out tomorrow & took the day off work for today. Your chat person was useless.
@DungerRob@Laura__OT@felixstoweradio Hi! I understand if you don't know how to do this, but are you able to put alt text on your images going forward please? It'll really help increase who can "see" your pictures.
Here's a resource to help;

@DeafOn4Wheels I think that a lot of people are socially isolated and a lot of personality traits are rejected so there's some comfort in pathologising those experiences. Maybe if people were more considerate, these diagnoses would be more specific and there could be more specialised support.
@DeafOn4Wheels My autism was missed because a lot of the social stuff they blamed on my deafness, like lack of eye contact - lipreading. Missing social cues - can't hear them etc.
@Sam_Ayerski@AngieBeatDown@Halfords_uk@HalfordsGarages Of course! As a deaf bitch who relies on people emailing, I get these emails constantly. I've given up and my partner calls but I'm aware how fortunate I am to have someone who can do it for me
On Saturday night I was forced to leave the @premierinn Enfield, in the middle of the night. staff didn’t believe my dog was a guide dog. Despite being given proof (my ADUK, harness and lead!). Legally I do not have to provide proof. This is a thread. Get comfy.
@ZodClash@pictureworks@JonAttenborough Personally, I've spotted emergency vehicles behind me a lot quicker than people closer to it and have been able to act on that. There's no need to hear while driving, even for beeping etc. You just pay attention to what's going on around you ☺️
@ZodClash@pictureworks@JonAttenborough I'm deaf and drive. I have a blue badge due to my mobility problems, but I am much more vulnerable walking across a carpark because people drive quickly around corners and might not see me etc and I can't hear. Deaf people are often better drivers BC we are more observant -
