Now that PGMOL has released audio from #TOTLIV here are some immediate actions I think should be implemented in order to improve refereeing standards. @RefereeHalsey@no1lino@HACKETTREF
Nice of him to come out and say anything, where has he been? Nothing said about Omar Artan and took him days to defend Raphael Claus. His legacy is being tainted by being Infantino’s right hand man.
Fifa refereeing chief Pierluigi Collina defends officials after Egypt’s controversial World Cup exit.
The EFA asked Fifa to kick the officials in charge of their last-16 defeat to Argentina out of the tournament.
I have always been impressed at the refereeing standards at major tournaments since Collina has been in charge. This world cup has seen the most inconsistent officiating I have seen during his reign. He has been invisible on the big issues. Dale is correct this was VAR overreach
Egypt's disallowed goal was completely against how this tournament has been refereed.
You can't have a light touch where you don't give fouls for minimal contact and then rule out a goal through VAR for a very minimal hold of the shirt.

This is an incredible story.
The Belgian FA saying it didn't appeal, it only asked for the written reasons.
Fifa considered this request to constitute an appeal.
The appeal will be inadmissible because the Belgian FA does not have the written reasons.
Mexico pen not clear and obvious error. O’Reilly lucky not to see red for an elbow, Mexico players constantly surrounding ref and arguing and not firm enough dealing with it. Would like to see him ref again in the competition, needs 1st half performance throughout.
Spoke too soon. Although I think Faghani had a great first half and was calm throughout, he was really inconsistent in second half. Cautioned Kane at PK for dissent by action/delaying restart but Mexico players took a lot longer to retreat at the England pen. 1/2
Referee Adham Mohammad Tumah Makhadmeh of Jordan had a very good game in my opinion and was correct not to award Harry Kane a penalty. I thought the England player dived and was lucky not to receive a yellow card. #engdrc#fifa.
I have always been a supporter of officiating at Major Tournaments especially since Colina took over at FIFA. However, this is the weakest start I have seen. Oliver and Taylor have a real shot at the Final is England don’t progress to the latter stages.
