I rebuilt Wolfenstein 3D from scratch in C#—then added coloured lighting, god rays, fog, bloom, shadows, and water caustics.

Still the original 1992 artwork. ✨

Updated my old face tracking demo (https://t.co/qjPrOgriYC) to use #GodotEngine. Quite happy with the result! #CreativeCoding #HeadTracking #ScreenshotSaturday

ZXBasic is a free interpreter that recreates the look and feel of programming a #ZXSpectrum. Modern editing, a few extra commands ('RENUM'), and an option CRT effect. Fun! #indiedev #retro

Typing in #BASIC code from old INPUT magazines, just as I did 40 years ago. Happy days.

I'm writing a Sinclair BASIC interpreter in C#.
If you recognise this image, we're of the same age.

If your #mech doesn't even have a #FluxCapacitor is it even a mech, bro? 😂

Original, for reference.

Adding glass and scratches to my custom #Mechwarrior2 engine.
I love playing with the 'effect' values until I get the result I want. Closer each time...

After the challenge of my #Wolfenstein3D engine remake, I've decided to try #Mechwarrior2.
Based on the DOS version, but layering newer effects. Will possibly port to #VR too.

@eliza___v I am this old.

@riddle_ling 真的太謝謝了！很高興你喜歡我的作品！

@2disbetter Thanks!
The C source was released but I didn’t want the temptation to just tweak that - not enough of a ‘project’ for me. So C#, as I’m familiar with it and it’s cross platform.

@DJMenig Such a cool idea! Nice one!

[DeanTheCoder @deanthecoder]

@LundukeJournal Thanks very much! A really fun project to work on. Mostly because I get to play the game so many times again. 😂

[DeanTheCoder @deanthecoder]

@galgomite @AshEvans81 My thought exactly.

[DeanTheCoder @deanthecoder]

@MadVincent666 Definitely, but RTX Doom already exists and looks way better than I could achieve on my own.

[DeanTheCoder @deanthecoder]

@keylimesoda That would be cool to see!

@exQUIZitely I just open sourced my updated Wolfenstein rendering engine. Wish I’d finished in time for the anniversary!
