In a significant boost to the Indian Army's modernization and operational preparedness efforts, Army Commander of Sapta Shakti Command, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, conducted a comprehensive review of the operational readiness of DOT Division. The visit highlighted the Army's commitment to enhancing combat effectiveness through innovation, indigenous technology, and advanced military training.

During the interaction, troops showcased a range of indigenous innovations developed to improve battlefield performance, force protection, surveillance capabilities, and mission effectiveness. These soldier-driven technological solutions reflect the Indian Army's growing focus on self-reliance and innovation under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

A major highlight of the visit was the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) Training Node. The facility will play a crucial role in preparing soldiers to detect, track, and neutralize emerging drone threats, a capability that has become increasingly important in modern warfare and border security operations.

Lt Gen Manjinder Singh commended the professionalism, dedication, and innovative spirit displayed by all ranks. Recognizing exceptional contributions, he also presented awards to deserving personnel for their outstanding performance and commitment to operational excellence.

Umroi, Meghalaya: On Multilateral military exercise PRAGATI 2026, Exercise Director Col Sundeep Punia says, "Pragati, the acronym stands for Partnership of Regional Armies for Growth and Transformation in Indian Ocean Region. With this, we had the aim to create synergy, create interoperability and enhance the mutual trust amongst the friendly foreign nations. With this aim, we had planned this exercise and approximately 400 participants from 12 friendly foreign countries were here. And over last two weeks, we have got trained together, during which the focus of the exercise was on counter-insurgency operations based in semi-mountainous and jungle terrain. During this time, it was a great opportunity for all of us to share the best practices. We planned our operations and carried out detailed discussions on how to incorporate the latest technologies, the niche technology and what is the effect of this on our operations, the new TTPs, that is, techniques, tactics and procedures..."

A proud milestone was marked at Rajput Regimental Centre, #Fatehgarh, as the ‘Kasam’ Parade of Agniveer Batch 07/25 witnessed 968 Agniveers take the solemn oath after successfully completing 24 weeks of rigorous military training.

Conducted in a combatised format, the parade reflected the Indian Army’s focused thrust towards operational readiness and realistic training. The immaculate drill, battlefield bearing and resolute spirit of the young soldiers symbolised their transformation into physically robust, technically proficient and battle-ready warriors of the famed #RajputRegiment.

The Agniveers, shaped through discipline, endurance and unwavering commitment, now stand ready to serve the Nation with pride, honour and courage.

The Commandant, Rajput Regimental Centre, congratulated the young soldiers and exhorted them to uphold the glorious traditions of the #IndianArmy while remaining steadfast in the service of the Nation. On the solemn occasion, #GauravPadaks were presented to proud parents, acknowledging their values, sacrifices and encouragement in guiding their sons towards a life of honour, duty and national service.

Brigadier Gidugu Himashree has spent the last 37 years answering that call.

Commissioned into the Army Medical Corps in 1988, she has stood at the frontlines of care — not just in hospitals, but in the heart of some of the most unforgiving terrains on Earth. From remote field units in Arunachal Pradesh to high-altitude operations in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and the treacherous Siachen Glacier — she has been where few dare to go.

She went on to lead the High Altitude Medical Research Centre in Ladakh, pioneering innovations in military medicine under brutal, life-threatening conditions.

Her service spans continents and crises — from conflict zones in Somalia to counter-insurgency operations back home. Wherever the mission called, she brought not just clinical skill, but grit, grace, and compassion.

Awarded four commendations over her remarkable career, Brigadier Himashree’s legacy is one of quiet courage, unshakeable resolve, and a deep commitment to those in uniform.

As she retires after nearly four decades of service, she doesn't just leave behind a decorated military record — she leaves behind a legacy that will inspire generations to come.

#WATCH | Delhi: At the Synergia Conclave, Major General CS Mann, AVSM, VSM, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Army Design Bureau (ADB), says, "Today, in an era of grey zones, I have had great things, where I say they are having the borders, commissions, and the cyber intruders, various intelligence systems like AI-assisted drones, senior support systems, and autonomous systems. They always have very decisive edges. But still, gaps actually undermine their productivity... The core issue is that even when we say trust in intelligence systems, it isn't just technically elaborate. It is actually the confidence that the commanders and soldiers can rely on AI outputs without any hesitation... When you look at a soldier, for him, it's a matter of life or death. Their split-second decision is a life-or-death decision. So, can we really depend so much on AI in that?... If he doesn't make decisions at the right time, he's given the advantage to the adversary... In the black box law, there are three gaps across 3 domains. One is the experimental, the second is robustness, and the third is human-AI synthesis. In all this, when we bring in the element of cyber, it actually takes it to a different level..." (11.03)
