For many people, a good death includes being laid to rest with members of their family, and for some that includes pets.

However, burying pets in a cemetery for humans is legal in only 4 US states-but there may soon be a 5th.

On Mar 19, 2018, the last male northern white rhino died. Witnesses watched the caretakers scratching Sudan’s skin, murmuring apologies & promises, saying goodbye, as they might to a patriarch of their own species. After Sudan was euthanized, his caretakers cried for his loss.
