Republican budget cuts are going to close two facilities that help veterans experiencing homelessness get back into permanent housing.

Democrats have a bill to keep them open. Republicans have refused to even hold a hearing on the bill. Without funding, they'll close Sept. 30.

This is what public hearings are for, and why it is so frustrating that my colleagues won’t give these bills a hearing. We need more in-person conversation and civil debate.

@Brandon_Hasz01 @DanRShafer Here are bills in the Wisconsin legislature awaiting a public hearing. Republicans have the majority and can vote them down if they don’t agree with a majority of Wisconsin voters. But we need to have the conversation- and not on social media. Proverbs 27:17.
