@Dr_AnnaLusardi It's refreshing to see someone of your stature sharing such a funny image. Reminds us that life is not only about work.
P.S. Your research on financial literacy at the grassroots level, especially through the 3 simple yet fundamental questions is impressive and eye-opening.
@reliancejio if one have an active 365 day international roaming plan (rs 2799), and living abroad, does the person still need to recharge domestic plan separately to keep the number valid?
@centralbank_in I understand that you need details for specific help. But I am just looking for some general info. Could you please inform what information and documents may be needed to convert savings and FD to NRO account?
Thanks
@centralbank_in If a person is staying out of India for more than 6 months of the financial year, what should be done to that person's single and joint FDs and savings accounts?

Investing is no different from swimming.
To learn swimming you NEED to jump in the pool.
To learn investing you NEED to jump into investing.
Will you make mistakes? yes
Will you lose money? yes
Will you improve as an investor? yes
But, if you assume the worst case: "Oh what if I drown and die".
True. But if you are an eternal pessimist-- then you can never really learn swimming.
What you should rather be is: a curated pessimist. You should take every precaution not to die, while you learn swimming.
Eg. hire a coach, read a book, do not go in the deep end,
or swim in baby pool.
Interestingly, the same applies to investing. Start with Index funds. Move to large caps. Then keep learning and increasing your risk profile, when you get more skilled.
If you take investing as a skill improvement game, you will really enjoy it. The way, good swimmers enjoy swimming.
@NipponIndiaMF What to do with nippon mutual fund holdings if one is residing in a different country (usa/canada) for more than 6 months in the financial year 2025-2026?
@NipponIndMFCare Thank you so much for the info! Could you also please tell me if new contributions to existing (or new) funds can be done, or existing funds can be liquidated after account is converted to NRI?
