Unfortunately, I deal with this all the time. And so do a lot of black women who like to do cutesy makeup online.
We can’t just be cute and black without people assuming we’re trying to either look like a different race, or assume we are a different race.
The smartphone really revolutionized the waiting room. Oh I get 20 minutes to look at my phone? Don’t mind if I do. The only problem is sometimes when I’m looking at my phone at home my home starts to feel like a waiting room and I realize it is and I’m just waiting to die
might delete idk but
it's the "everyone wants to save the world but no one wants to help mom do the dishes" thing to me. they want to be hero of the day saving women in dark streets but never tackle the everyday things/ppl (incl themselves) contributing to rape culture
ppl engage with aesthetic objects like they have a unique, privileged relationship with them as things to be consumed as 'theirs'. commodity-texts offer themselves up 'exclusively' to be annihilated into the vacuity of their existing views, no capacity for disinterested judgment
