We have lost a man of incredible talent who made a positive impact on Native representation in film, inspiring a new generation of Native actors. His great heart was only matched by his wickedly funny sense of humor. My prayers are with his family and friends. Journey on, Graham.
After 39 years of service to our Nation, I am retiring from the @USArmy. Today, I passed the @USARPAC colors to my successor, GEN Ronald Clark during the USARPAC Change of Command ceremony. As I reflect on my decades of service, I am filled with gratitude and pride. It is my highest honor to serve with, alongside, and for the finest men and women of our country. I will forever cherish the purpose, mission, and people of this great Army. I will treasure the friendships I have made across the Pacific and the lessons that will stay with me for the rest of my life. As I embark on a new chapter, I want to express my deepest appreciation to all those who have supported me throughout my career – and the list is truly so vast I cannot hope to name them all. Your guidance, encouragement, and camaraderie have been invaluable, and I am grateful for each one of you. I am so proud of what we have accomplished – together – over the last 3+ years and I am confident that this Theater Army will continue to contribute to a Free and Open Indo-Pacific with our Allies and Partners. Thank you again for your support – I am grateful for the opportunity to have played but a small role as a Soldier protecting our freedoms and way of life in this great Nation. “ONE TEAM!”

The two aviators who died when their fighter jet crashed last week are being remembered as a trailblazing female duo who recently returned from a Red Sea deployment.
Lt. Cmdr. Lyndsay Evans and Lt. Serena Wileman, both 31, were identified by Naval Air Forces Pacific. The two were declared dead Sunday — five days after the EA-18G Growler jet from the Electronic Attack Squadron 130, nicknamed “Zappers,” went down east of Mount Rainier in Washington state.

#RIP John Kinsel Sr. who passed away on Saturday at the age of 107. Kinsel was one of the last of the USMC's Navajo Code Talkers who used the Diné language to develop an unbreakable code. He enlisted in 1942 and served with the 3rd Marine Division during the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Up late scrolling and stumbled upon Peyton Manning’s retirement speech. This edit by @FOXSports helped paint the picture of some amazing imagery in his words.
Such a special time in football
Fifteen years ago today, October 3, was the Battle of COP Keating, the deadliest day for the U.S. in Afghanistan in 2009.
It starts with an outpost built in Nuristan in 2006 at the bottom of three steep mountains.

I love the ahistorical game that suggests that if Lee and Grant changed places, Lee would demonstrate his superiority as a general.
It overlooks so much.
Do you switch subordinates as well? What about relations with civil superiors?
