Last night, an apartment I had rented near my residence for my staff was raided by intelligence agencies. All the men’s phones were confiscated and they were subjected to beatings. Some have since been released but none were spared from the violence.

My manager and one of the guards remain unaccounted for and have not been returned.

This is not simply a security matter. The use of racial profiling to target and raid a residence, followed by arbitrary detention, confiscation of personal phones and physical abuse, raises grave human rights concerns.

Weird that a demonstrably false claim is being used to launder a brutal dictator's reputation. The claim is based on a complete misunderstanding of Pakistan's blasphemy issue and ignorance of basic math.

Reuters also conflates two different developments: fewer TLP-organised street incidents and fewer registered blasphemy cases. The documented explosion in registered cases was driven substantially by an FIA-linked online accusation and entrapment machinery that blossomed under Munir specifically, and was exposed by victims’ families and lawyers like Iman Mazari (who is now in jail) — these cases were not principally motivated by TLP street mobilization.

Reuters omits that entire history and awards Asim Munir causal credit without producing evidence capable of establishing causation, while the drop to 13, that Reuters credits Munir for, is still higher than 2021, the year before he took charge. Yet Reuters believes this to be some sort of achievement for Asim Munir.

You got to have deep contempt for the field of statistics to make such a claim.
