The power of concentration is the strongest but unfortunately most underrated asset that everyone has.
"The main difference between men and the animals is the difference in their power of concentration. " - Swami Vivekananda

@DavidSacks Two ways to read this -
1. An ounce of product intuition creates value equivalent to a pound of A/B testing.
2. To reach a stage where you get an ounce of product intuition you should have gone through a pound of A/B testing.
Both correct perhaps?
“Tennis is a tough sport, there are no draws, but if there was going to be one, I would have been very happy to accept one tonight, and share it with Rafa, really” - Roger Federer
Pure sportsmanship. Pure class.
Sport is less without this man as an active player.
We will have many more moments to share together in the future, there are still lots of things to do together, we know that.
For now, I truly wish you all the happiness with your wife, Mirka, your kids, your family and enjoy what’s ahead of you. I’ll see you in London @LaverCup
Quite true.
Thought Experiment - What will happen when this mental work vanishes (did someone say AI)? Will we invent more artificial constructs or will we realise that such constructs are artificial?
Careers and other such artificial human constructs can exist because we have time freed from the collection of food
Stable food supply chains have allowed large human populations to migrate from "physical" food gathering to "mental" work
A lady first met an Emperor and then Swami Vivekananda.
She said after meeting the Emperor - "I felt how great he is and how insignificant I am".
And after meeting Vivekananda - "I felt how great he is and how great I am".
Lessons for leadership in current times?
All knowledge is acquired only through concentration.
Your ability to be in the moment not allowing your mind to take you elsewhere, is what allows you to learn anything.
This myth of multi-tasking takes one away from this superpower. Multi-tasking should be giving all your resources to one task and then at the right moment switch to another.
Interestingly, that's how a CPU multi-tasks 😀.
