#RishiCan this is not just a win for @RishiSunak (congrats! 🥳) but a win for BAME community! This shows how the #UK has evolved and become open-minded over the years. Now that’s a great example for any country. Talent will take you to places and not petty politics! Period!
@Axilzan@plannedscience@workingbnb It actually depends on the course and school. I’m pursuing my PhD in Manufacturing Engineering and I didn’t have any classes. But I know colleagues in other schools who had to take classes and pass exams along with the viva.
I don’t know how to decide, so I would like to know from your experience, is it okay to take leave for your wedding during your PhD? How did you all do? @PhDVoice#phdchat#phdlife#AcademicChatter
@barbarajack14@PhDForum@PhDVoice I didn’t use any of my official leave last year so yeah I can get two from there. Anyway, I’m going to have a chat with my supervisor panel tomorrow 🤞🏼Thank you!
@hireddivas@PhDVoice If you go through this thread you can see a lot of academics have done it. It’s more common than I thought as well. It’s never easy but life’s should go on…
@Pingosaurus Haha it’s too good to be true! It totally depends on the whereabouts of your partner. In my case, we are in two different cities which takes more than 10 hrs to travel for each of us even to meet! But thanks for your encouragement ✌🏼
@alrightPET@PhDVoice Appreciate your advice! The issue with us PhDs is that the workload is always there at the back of our mind. But yeah, it shouldn’t be like that!
@alrightPET@PhDVoice I felt it that way too after posting but you can’t edit tweets unfortunately. Thanks Heather, my supervisor panel has been very reasonable so far!
