INSPECTION REPORT | We've been rated 'outstanding' at preventing and deterring crime, and graded as 'good' in three other areas by His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services.
But our chief constable has vowed to make our force 'outstanding for the people of Merseyside' after the report also highlighted four areas in which we were 'adequate' and one where we are 'requiring improvement'.
More response officers are on duty 24/7 and more neighbourhood officers are patrolling the streets since CC Rob Carden restructured the force in March this year.
The HMICFRS 'PEEL assessment' covers August 2025 to March 2026. You can read our full response and that of the Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner, Emily Spurrell, as well as the full report on our website here: https://t.co/WspxKljPrZ

Boy, she really has some nerve.
“Say Thanks to Dad,” says the woman who cut her own father out of her life, denied him the chance to meet his son-in-law and never allowed him to know his grandchildren.
Now she wants to lecture the rest of us about celebrating Father’s Day? The hypocrisy is staggering. Meghan has spent years preaching family values while treating her own father as disposable.
Spare us the sentimental marketing campaign.

The strength and bravery of four teenage girls coming forward and reporting the crimes of Celal Arslan has meant he has today been put behind bars for 20 years plus five years on extended licence.
A jury saw through the lies of 52-year-old Arslan, of Ditton Drive, Halewood and following a trial found him guilty of 18 sexual offences against four teenage girls in South Liverpool.
Arslan was jailed for the following:
•15 counts of sexual assault
•Two counts of attempted rape
•Rape
👉 He will also be required to register on the Sex Offender for life.
Arslan has been described by Detective Constable Nikki Brown, who was the officer in charge of the investigation, as “a sexual predator” who “targeted young and vulnerable teenagers who have shown incredible strength to not only report his crimes but also undergo the added trauma of a trial after Arslan denied his actions”.
We sincerely hope that the sentencing of Arslan brings some comfort to the four girls involved and their families 💙

This is NOT okay. Synd2 stopped a car to find a 10‑month‑old baby loose in a broken seat with no straps or belt, and a 3‑year‑old in the top half of a pram with a loose belt. The driver was issued TORs and required to buy proper car seats before continuing their journey. 🤯 😑
