Gaskiya, Uba Sani’s prospects of securing a second term in 2027 look increasingly uncertain. In all my years in Kaduna, I cannot recall seeing a governor who has generated this level of public dissatisfaction. Beyond the propaganda machinery and hired voices, there are deeper political realities: his administration’s poor performance, the malcontent of Kaduna APC members and disillusionment of evenhis own cabinet, and, perhaps most significantly, his falling-out with and treatment of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. The Supreme Court has spoken, and its position on the ADC leadership dispute was never an invitation for judicial gymnastics. The matter had been settled; the referral to the High Court was strictly limited to other outstanding issues, not an opportunity to resurrect a leadership question already decided by the apex court.

What unfolded today is a dangerous display of judicial overreach and political desperation. You cannot rewrite the law to satisfy political interests, nor can you turn the courtroom into an extension of a political rally. Justice must never become a commodity traded for political relevance.

The people are watching, history is recording, and democracy must not be sacrificed on the altar of political manipulation.
