Normalizing sin makes performing good deeds harder.

It’s all connected to the concept of īmān increasing and decreasing. The more a person sins; especially when those sins become normalized and no longer trouble the heart; the weaker their īmān becomes, and the heavier acts of obedience begin to feel.

And the opposite is also true: the more you obey Allah, avoid sin, and repent when you fall short, the stronger your īmān becomes and the easier acts of worship become.

Sin leads to sin, and obedience leads to obedience. So be careful what you allow your heart to become accustomed to.
