Elon Musk’s Starlink scandal has undermined the U.S. space industry and the country’s diplomatic and intelligence partnerships, say lawmakers, foreign officials, and former senior members of the U.S. military. My latest for @DefenseOne (link below)
NEW: We got the list of “Business Deals” the US and Russia are discussing.
They include a potential return by US companies to the Russian oil market as part of wider talks to end Putin’s war, including JVs in Sakhalin and restoring the Druzhba pipeline:

I analyzed hundreds of tweets from this past weekend and found evidence of two unique disinformation campaigns amplifying Elon Musk’s accusations against Ukraine. One of these campaigns can be traced back to a Russian social media account and one of Putin’s top allies.

The Army’s only remaining SFAB helped broker a ceasefire in southeast Asia | The service’s last train-advise-assist unit is working to counter Chinese influence in the Indo-Pacific theater. by @meghannmyers_ https://t.co/lXb7I78RLn
@jrfuisz I use those reports and so do others. This platform's FIMI problem has exploded under Musk, based on on everything I've seen with my own eyes, heard from MISO operators, IC members, analysts, etc.. As to this "space," my brother, I have bad news.
X today is the no. 1 source for Russian disinformation laundered through bot accounts w US flags in their profile pics.
Reporters are still the no. 1 source for news.
Journalism has always been on life support.

Four years ago today, Elon Musk bought Twitter.
Liberals lost their minds because they knew they were losing control of their ability to shape the narrative.
Today, X is the #1 source of news in the world and it’s the legacy "news" media on life support.
John, Reporters should always be willing to consider corrections. A better source contrasting FIMI activity across networks might be this one. It found 88 percent of FIMI traffic originating from Twitter (X) in 2025 https://t.co/XgYonGCtwK
And this NATO Center of Excellence report reached a similar finding. You are, I know, familiar...

Admittedly, it was a casual tweet response to an anonymous cartoon account, one making a boastful claim with no factual basis.
So, yes, the "No 1" claim was a rhetorical flourish. My bad!
The statement was based largely on my personal experience on the site, watching it change, interviewing former employees, and monitoring disinformation community discussions about it. Turns out it still stands up to scrutiny. I still think the original study I posted is useful as a reference and intro the broader discussion.
Did you demand a correction from the little cartoon guy who is, I guess, a convicted felon? https://t.co/HsjIdPRceT
Public records show James Morrison (aka Jim Lewis), associated with WallStreetMav, has a 2017 Washington conviction for extortion, third-degree assault, and vandalism, serving jail time. In Florida, he was convicted in Nov 2025 of misdemeanor criminal mischief (salting a lawn), receiving 6 months probation. Civil cases include lawsuits over finances and a 2018 family matter. Allegations of domestic/child abuse exist but lack confirmed convictions in searches. Sources: Court docs, news reports.
The Kremlin has shown it is always willing to negotiate… and then violate the terms of what ever it negotiated, then negotiate new terms (now that the old terms don’t apply) and then violate the new terms (how violation is determined must also be negotiated) and so on…
Anyone with even a basic understanding of Russia knows this is true. Those blaming Ukraine’s supporters for prolonging the war have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about.
Military analyst Kofman: This year Russia is trying to buy 1,300 ballistic missiles, 1,600 cruise missiles and over 120K long-range attack drones and decoys.
Jet drones are over half its strike drones. Only about 60% get shot down, against 90% for prop drones. 1/
NEW | 🇷🇺 The Russian bot campaign around France’s riots started about six weeks before the riots did. Doppelganger was already pushing French grievances from early September.

The gap between the administration’s Russia policy and Americans’ general views may mean that moving to a free world strategy from whatever it is the USG is now doing may be fast.
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.
