He was given the keys to the Cathedral by the priests. They put him in charge of locking up and gave him verger duties. After he set it on fire, destroying the organ and organ loft, Fr Maire offered him a safe haven in his home to await trial.
He proceeded to murder Fr Maire.
Umberto Eco, who owned 50,000 books, had this to say about home libraries:
"It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read.
It would be like saying that you should use all the cutlery or glasses or screwdrivers or drill bits you bought before buying new ones.
There are things in life that we need to always have plenty of supplies, even if we will only use a small portion.
If, for example, we consider books as medicine, we understand that it is good to have many at home rather than a few: when you want to feel better, then you go to the 'medicine closet' and choose a book.
Not a random one, but the right book for that moment. That's why you should always have a nutrition choice!
Those who buy only one book, read only that one and then get rid of it. They simply apply the consumer mentality to books, that is, they consider them a consumer product, a good.
Those who love books know that a book is anything but a commodity."

Been a while…
I stepped back to protect my vision for Web3 & forge stronger foundations.
The last year as a Builder has been an emotional rollercoaster with both painful treachery & unfathomable support.
Starting November 1st, @MythDivision is open again — stronger, smarter, & ready for the next era of digital storytelling.
Yesterday when Erica Kirk publicly forgave Charlie Kirk’s shooter that assassinated him…
I must be frank with you…
It is totally, messing with my mind right now.
It’s like…
My “head” gets it logically…
But my heart feels something different.
My heart is screaming…
“Are you serious? How does she get to ‘forgiveness’ that quickly?”
This ONE moment yesterday on stage is making me ask these questions below…
“Do I always need an apology from another person before I forgive them?”
“Why does that one condition (getting an apology) need to be personally present for me to be able to forgive a person who wronged me?”
“Isn’t forgiveness considered ‘weakness’ because it allows you to be run over, and taken advantage all the time?”
“Where does ‘justice’ happen in all of this?”
As I sit here…
I pray for clarity.
I pray for discernment.
I pray for your input.
I pray for a deeper understanding about what @MrsErikaKirk did in front of the entire world yesterday…
Because right now…
I am still personally struggling with this.
All I can think of is this:
We live in a world where people want “revenge” and want to “get even” with those who wrong them.
And then…
Erika goes on stage and completely smacks us in the face with something we NEVER saw coming.
I’m still trying to process it all.
I will never lie to you, and with that being said in the most open, honest and transparent way possible…
I STILL need help with this…
If you feel moved to share…

Thank you, and God Bless 🙏🏻
