@DrWigley @OxfordBiology @ConversationUK Yes per press release, there was a flu related die-off in the wild birds in the area, could be relevant (https://t.co/BdY4jZ1vmS). Flu in these seals yet to be officially confirmed though. Not enough data about reassortment but new avian segment uptake during outbreaks possible.
