Today's action by 4q participating @OSCE States is important for accountability for Russian crimes, including the abhorrent work to indoctrinate children in occupied territories. We look forward to working with the rapporteurs and @HRH_Crimea in this regard.
🇸🇪 is alarmed by credible reports that Russia systematically subjects Ukrainian children to militarization, indoctrination & other forms of repression. Today 41 @OSCE participating States invoked the #MoscowMechanism to investigate further. An expert report will be out in July.
“These [practices] are, of course, even more pronounced within indigenous, ethnic and religious minority communities.” HRHF’s @delseroad @ our OSCE SHDMII Side Event on Russia.
Congratulations to @promolex, the recipient of the 2026 Democracy Defender Award. Special thanks to @SwedeninATOSCE for hosting the award ceremony and the DDI States who chose such a well deserving organisation.
When people show you who they are, believe them. Azerbaijani GONGOs are working to further State policy. When they name check independent journalists and HRDs who are facing threats from the Azerbaijani state, participating States should take those comments seriously.
OSCE must remain a venue for meaningful engagement between independent civil society and participating States. GONGOs have been a nuisance and hindrance for years. But this is a new front opened by Azerbaijan to silence dissenting and opposition voices.
HRHF is delighted to welcome @BeckyBakr Vindheim as its new Head of Communications. Becky will manage all aspects of HRHF’s internal and external communications, including media work.
It's been 2 years since our friend & colleague Anar Mammadli was unjustly detained for his human rights work, including at the @OSCE and @UN_HRC. We demand his release.
It has been a year since Anar Mammadli was unjustly detained in Azerbaijan. The postcards we send never reach him — but if they did, here’s what Anar's colleagues would say.

Secret memos by Supreme Court justices, obtained by The New York Times, show how they decided to bypass time-tested procedures and create the modern “shadow docket,” a controversial new way of doing business. https://t.co/xNu6GXxmdl

I'm hearing disturbing news that on 31 March Belarus’s State Security Committee labelled the Belarusian Helsinki Committee an “extremist formation”, effectively making any interaction with it a crime. This has reportedly been done without any transparent process, public justification, or access to evidence. I’ve repeatedly spoken out against the misuse of “anti-extremism” laws to target HRDs in #Belarus, and it’s deeply concerning to see this trend continue. @BelarusUNOG@Belhelcom
