Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser has revealed that Bully had a troubled development and nearly failed to come together, in a new IGN interview.
▪️ The game was constantly in trouble during development, with Houser unsure whether it would turn out well.
▪️ Rockstar struggled to establish Bully's identity without GTA's traditional cars and guns.
▪️ The introduction of school schedules, lessons and NPC pranks helped the game finally take shape.
▪️ Houser recalled a breakthrough moment when developers added a “Kick Me” prank that let NPCs to kick other characters.
▪️ Controversy surrounding the game's name and school setting forced Rockstar to spend much of 2006 defending it rather than promoting it.
▪️ Dan believes Bully never received the attention it deserved, despite ultimately becoming a strong game.
▪️ Development only came together very late, with Houser praising the team for delivering the finished game.

Rumor: LA Noire will have a sequel after GTA 6
- Set in San Francisco
- Story is about the Zodiac killer
- Likely coming in 2030
- Rockstar wants to take the face scanning to the next level
What gives this leaker credibility is that they managed to accurately describe GTA 6 mechanics back in 2023, such as the relationship and criminal profile and how they’ll affect the story.
The leaker also correctly stated that the game was supposed to have 4 protagonists (Rob Nelson confirmed this in recent previews).
