@feIixwaIken@N0UVEAUCAFE I mean if he grew up close to Fatima and she was 'assassinated' he'd be very justified in having fear for his life. The insidious thing is that Maria is the one who introduced the danger into his life in the first place and as soon as he depended on her the danger probably stops
@ARedMountKnight@ZinogreVolt The inverse where Eshmel doesn't make the same choice as Orchel and chooses to live his life as a different person is also pretty compelling. It would've been a good use of player agency if Eshmel was an established character and your choice was just "Are they still Solel" or not
@z_kokonut@Draconariussky@ARandomVillager Yu Phas likely never discloses what happened (only way SA would be frameable as betrayal), Aurora grows up wondering why her mother is sad, Solel has doubts about his daughter's parentage and may have had internal doubts about Yu Phas' love for him.
@z_kokonut@Draconariussky@ARandomVillager While it will never be confirmed explicitly I think more evidence points to Dagda being her biological parent, but really it's not that important compared to the fact that the SA itself is the precipitating event that caused all 3 of their relationships to deteriorate.
@Draconariussky@z_kokonut@ARandomVillager That doesn't explain why Aurora is coincidentally born right during the period where Yu Phas convinces Dagda + why Aurora describes her mom agonizing over 'betrayal' of Solel to save lives which is just flatly stated by her as factual and not an after the fact interpretation.
@TPolyglottos@Expelsword@zeldapilled Aurora's birth could've been put at literally any point before the events of the game. They purposefully chose to put it right at the specific time that Yu Phas magically convinced Dagda and then had it in plain text that Yu Phas felt like she 'betrayed' Solel as a consequence
@TPolyglottos@Expelsword@zeldapilled I'm not disputing that, just that even with the rule of no literacy in place there's still too much (Otherwise, totally unnecessary) evidence that Dagda SA'd Yu Phas during the same period as the otherwise miraculous bargain to spare the White Egg people was made
@Expelsword@zeldapilled Not to mention that the fact that they've been forbidden to read or write is something that they were told by Yu Phas herself, not Dagda and the Empire. It was her attempt to keep them safe in the future not the reason they got spared in the first place.
@Expelsword@zeldapilled If it was the fact that the forest people were instructed not to become literate that still doesn't explain why Yu Phas agonized over a 'betrayal' of Solel. Hell, there's no reason to mention that Aurora's parentage is in doubt at all from a plot perspective.
@MeishoDessie Yeah but Harrow's entire thing is taking other people's pain into herself so even though he's afraid of her she's actually one of the best people to take care of his unique condition of constant chronic pain so it loops around to still being cute
@GrubCritter Ok so if there was draft and your character gets banned or picked ahead of you, then what exactly is draft fixing? You're still going to have to play other characters
@TimmyTron20000@pacocaagiota85 If nobody dies this time it's the same as admitting Inherit died for nothing but shock value. Y'all wanted this bed now you don't want to lay in it.
@LexsPeridot@ReinhardtEmblem And if your response is "It's not important to know how Bertrand became king" well ok I guess you don't think that will be a focus of his DLC at all then then because it's so irrelevant?
@LexsPeridot@ReinhardtEmblem I mean it absolutely harms the story when Part 2 has Bertrand return with "By the way I'm king now" and then Theodora asks "Wait, how on earth did that happen?" only to receive a "I'll explain later" response - which is then never explained later. Cruadin proably tied into that.
@CatHakase@Hereward99@Red_Mage23 Them scheming to remove Balor's corpse from the isle is what lead to Yu Phas being executed in the first place. Raksha had already infiltrated Dagda's inner court by then.
@Kami_Mutou Also because he was raised to be a political pawn for the Order of Mithras he lacks the emotional and mental maturity to actually rule without Maria telling him what to do + she's caused him to believe that danger is everywhere so that he's constantly dependent on her
@Kami_Mutou Maria has groomed him from childhood and systematically isolated him from either his sister figure or childhood LI (Fianna/Fatima), his best friend (Bertrand) and his other childhood friend/LI (Aswan). She's gone in Part 2 so his world basically collapses on itself
