That is the governing class speaking, not a rumor from Tel Aviv. Concrete and diesel and years of labor went into a city under the city for the men with the guns. The pink bedroom and the hospital ward were left on the surface because the people in them were useful as a headline, not as a population Hamas intended to keep alive.

They keep telling you this is about a border. Then they sit down in a studio, in a pulpit, on Hamas television, and they tell you it is not.

A Qatari cleric on Qatar TV in 2009 said the Jews would still be the enemy even if they handed Palestine back, because they are infidels. Another preacher asked the question out loud. If they left, would we start loving them. He answered himself. Of course not. Never. They are enemies first because of what they are, not because of a fence. An Egyptian cleric said the hatred is faith. The Quran, he said, tells us to hate them, not to love them. Hamas’s own deputy minister of religious endowments went further and called them a filthy people with no religion and no conscience, condemned anyone who would sit with them, and said they are not human beings. A Palestinian cleric on Al-Aqsa TV said Muslim blood vengeance ends only with their annihilation. Another Egyptian closed it the way these sermons always close it. After Satan, the worst enemies of the Muslims are the Jews. Who said so. Allah did.

That is not a land dispute that got heated. That is a doctrine saying the land is the costume. Give them the map tomorrow and the sentence does not change. They said it when the cameras were rolling, in their own language, to their own audiences, years before October 7, and the West still insists on translating it into a housing argument because the plain meaning is too ugly to carry.

Watch it. Then try to tell me this was ever about 1967.
