Dear Datuk @zaidibrahim, you may be right to call out the hypocrisy. But beyond morality, whether real or performative, there is also the question of corporate optics.
Picture this: Amin Nasser (Aramco). Darren Woods (ExxonMobil). Mike Wirth (Chevron). Wael Sawan (Shell). Patrick Pouyanné (TotalEnergies). Murray Auchincloss (BP). Magda Chambriard (Petrobras). Anders Opedal (Equinor). Claudio Descalzi (Eni).
Can we imagine any of these Fortune 500 CEOs climbing an F1 podium, Moët & Chandon magnum in hand, to spray champagne?
Yet that is exactly what happened with the PETRONAS CEO at the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2025 before a worldwide audience, and with Malaysians watching at home.
Formula 1 is a global media product where every logo, every image, every second on screen is choreographed. What positive brand value did PETRONAS gain by having its CEO associated, for two long minutes on international broadcast, with the spraying of Moët & Chandon?
PETRONAS aspires to stand among the majors. That stature is not measured by sponsorships or trophies alone, but by the restraint and gravitas of its leadership. This is not the first time its CEO has been invited to stand at the podium. At minimum, the Board deserves an accounting - and Malaysians deserve assurance that PETRONAS will learn from this faux pas and embody the decorum and dignity worthy of its hallowed name.
Elok laa tu, buat event kibar bendera bagai, involve anak2 muda, nak bapak bawak anak2 kecik, tapi masing2 tak pakai helmet naik motor. Yang memimpin pun sama tolol.
@rakyatbr2 Assalamualaikum....
Dekat office koperasi tu takde staff ke? Berhari2 dah email dan whatsapp takde reply, call tak berjawab. @KUSKOPMalaysia
Seems like your daily coins collection and redemption is a scam. Redemption said to be fulfilled within 5 days (which is ridiculously slow) and even after 5 days, no signs of vouchers coming.
Sejak jadi runner naturalisasi negara Watopia ni, aku pakai kasut perempuan / colorway perempuan pun isokay, dah takde netizen acah2 terpaling runners boleh kecam. Yang penting murah, beli kat Mitsui 😆. #akuyangberlarikauyangpanas
Ni kasut Nike Pegasus 40 (one version behind), women's model. Aku beli RM143 je kat Mitsui. So, lantak laa korang nak ketawakan aku pakai kasut perempuan ke apa.... 🤣🤣🤣
Our tolerance level to failure in sports is too high. Ini salah satu sebab our sports standard isn't getting anywhere. Target tak habis2 "buat yang terbaik...", "...untuk menimba pengalaman..." 😪
Tak meet target pun boleh consider membanggakan? I'm talking from corporate KPI POV lah, where successes are not measured by efforts. You tak meet target, you failed lah. Sbb tu waktu set KPI, kena SMART, not POOMA. Is it too difficult to confess that you've failed? @KBSMalaysia
Sama jugak mcm geng2 terpaling runners. Bila dnf je, it is not a failure but a delayed success. Hello... kau dnf a race, kau gagal lah... 🙄. Learn from it, move on, train better, try again.
