@BlueBob53@SER1897 People keep saying this on here but Mamdani won, handily. He couldn’t have won with ONLY leftist votes. Some establishment dems and centrists absolutely voted for him
@d12_damage@StanFdr Walk me through the logic here. How is it more disenfranchising to drop out NOW, when voters would still have input regarding the nominee, than to drop out AFTER, and have a nominee that is hand picked by one person?
@RubinsBlockList@reedtcampbell@ColeSandick@BlackLanterrn Fair enough. I just know some people here would default to saying that anybody who voted for Clinton or Biden in a primary is a centrist
And while the teachers union I am in skews liberal with a healthy dose of leftists, there are also plenty of centrists and a few republicans
@RubinsBlockList@reedtcampbell@ColeSandick@BlackLanterrn Yes. And plenty of them voted for Mamdani. I am by and large a union member, establishment type Dem with some issues that I lean further left on. You’d probably call me a centrist. I would have 100% voted for Mamdani over Cuomo
@cosmepolitics Maine has the highest percentage of whites, has one of the lowest 5 poverty rates, and has a pretty left leaning Democratic Party.
Yes, “upper middle class left leaning” is a major block in Maine’s Dem primaries. Are you seriously disputing this?
@leftist_lawyer What the fuck are you talking about? Left leaning people need to realize that their coalition alone is not enough to get most leftists elected. Know when to hold em, know when to fold em. It’s time to fold Platner. He won’t beat Collins, and somebody else should get the nom
