@RafalTomal One last option is 1099 them for forgiveness of debt. You write it off and they pay taxes on what they owe you. If you have their EIN that is the easiest and least risky way forward.

@RafalTomal Two choices. Either walk from it and look forward or start with a friendly letter, followed by a demand letter, followed by a law suit. Under 10K you are in small claims territory which is easy. Over that, it could be federal if copyright is involved and loser pays the legal.
