@bennettbearbro@ExploreBharat47 India will never never ever win any sports medal .. it's long story .. TL;DR - Every high school ( public funded) in US is mini stadium , sports is accessible to all - big pool to start with. India can't compete. Not like China.
I stopped taking advice from childless people.
Fitness. Productivity. Life advice. All of it.
And here's why:
It's not that they're wrong. It's that they're playing a completely different game.
Taking life advice from someone without kids is like getting marriage tips from a guy who's "really good at first dates."
Cool, bro. But you've never had to initiate the tough conversation and own your mistake just to keep the peace.
We're not in the same sport.
We've all seen some 25-year-old fitness influencer with non-negotiable 5am routine.
Wake up. Meditate. Journal. Cold plunge. 45-minute lift.
Sounds beautiful. You know what woke ME up at 5am last Tuesday?
A 3-year-old standing 3 inches from my face whispering, "Daddy, I frowed up."
There's no cold plunge for that. Just reality.
These people have optimized their lives around ONE variable: themselves.
I'm optimizing for:
→ A marriage that still thriving after 10 years
→ Kids who actually want to be around me
→ A career that provides for my family
→ A body that lets me keep up with all of it
That's a completely different goal and it requires a different formula.
Real discipline isn't waking up at 5am when your apartment is silent and your only responsibility is a houseplant.
It's a 10pm workout after the kids went to bed because your morning blew up showing up for your family when they needed you.
That's the game I'm playing.
Childless advice isn't just impractical. It's unrelatable.
Their goal: optimize for SELF.
My goal: optimize for FAMILY.
It's like a vegan telling me how to grill a steak.
You might technically know the steps. But I don't trust you with the tongs.
The best advice I've ever gotten came from parents in the trenches.
They don't talk about "optimizing morning routines."
They talk about:
• 20 push-ups while your kid eats breakfast
• Walking with your wife after dinner because it's the only time you'll get together
• Meal prepping Sunday because Tuesday night is a warzone
THAT'S advice that actually works.
So no, I'm not taking health advice from someone whose biggest inconvenience is their supplement stack being shipped late.
I want the guy who's been elbow-deep in a diaper blowout and STILL hitting their goals.
That's the guy who I'm listening to.
Find your people. Take their advice. Ignore the rest.
@SagasofBharat@JS93096041@travelingflying If you have built a great career - kudos to you - great for your wellbeing and financial security. But unfortunately, avg. good looking waitress with great personality is marriage material. Men not chasing college degrees in west.
@SagasofBharat@travelingflying West doesn't work this way... waitress at AppleBee still speaks english, watches all cool shows. She might not have advanced PhD in Robotics but still well read... basic high school education in west gives that. In India, doesn't work - 12th pass from tier 3 city in india
@drsunita02 If you take care of your health , pregnancy is 40's is very much realistic. ..or late 30's.. only regret would be .. you won't get to spend as much time with your kids as you will compared to when u had in late 20's. Pure biology
@dfziklag@DineshDSouza H-1B program lets you focus on college sports program , invest in high school sports rather than teaching kids high level STEM courses. Work in sports team or work in maths program ? both require investment of time and effort - US made this choice. Native will focus on sports
@RichardHanania Individual sports - comes at individual parent effort level, which is difficult , so neither US system or public support like China or Russia as govt has better things to do.
@RichardHanania Why Indians are not good in sports - it is all about system. US has great inclusive public high school sports system which acts as funnel for olympic trials . India has none of it.
- Some pathetic govt academies identifying players - coaching - will net a medal here n there
@RichardHanania Hindus - Indians focuson these things which conservatives don't
- focus on STEM edu , else stay at home
- home cooked food
- Mom Dad stay together sake of kids
-worship Lakshmi (Money) , Saraswati ( knowledge) , and Hanuman ( Valor) Ganesha ( wisdom) - look these up.
By contrast, the number of students deeply pursuing physics at a competitive/elite track level (Olympiads, advanced AP/IB, independent research) is much smaller — closer to tens of thousands, not millions.
Compare to IIT aspirants in India - most are at AP Physics level.
Difference between India and US ? why US wins more Olympic medals ? some stats .. and yes, studying science is hard but Indians do it in effortless manner.
In the U.S., millions of high school students play organized sports (football, basketball, baseball, track, etc.). For example, the National Federation of State High School Associations reports ~7.8 million student-athletes each year.
Sorry, but as an honest taxpayer, I fail to empathize with the #H1Bvisa issue.
Here’s where India’s Higher Education budget goes:
👉🏻 IITs: 27%
👉🏻 NITs: 18%
👉🏻 IIMs: 3%
= 50% of funding for just 3% of students! Really?
Result: 33% migrate immediately. Among top performers, 62% of the top 100 JEE rankers leave.
👉🏻 I’m literally paying taxes to train Silicon Valley’s workforce. India is essentially running a world-class talent export program funded by taxpayers.
