I started learning smart contract security 3 months ago.
Thanks @PatrickAlphaC@CyfrinUpdraft
I had no prior experience.
Now I can understand and analyze basic Solidity code, use Chainlink oracles, and write secure fundMe-style contracts.
This thread shares my journey so far
@code4rena Contests may come and go, but strong researchers will always be valuable.
The future probably belongs to people who can combine: smart contracts + systems thinking + real security knowledge.
RIP C4. A lot of careers started because of you.
Seeing @code4rena fade away honestly says a lot about where Web3 security is heading.
The “find one bug and change your life overnight” phase is getting smaller.
For newcomers, this shouldn’t discourage you — but it should reset your expectations.
@code4rena If you want to survive in this field:
Treat Solidity like a real engineering skill
Learn security fundamentals outside crypto too
Practice reading code more than watching tutorials
Be patient with growth
Build credibility slowly and publicly
High pay comes with high responsibility. Mastery before money.
Want a structured path into smart contract security? @CyfrinUpdraft breaks it down from basics to real research.
@PatrickAlphaC , and the whole @CyfrinUpdraft team your work has been a turning point. You’ve made smart contract security feel possible for me.
You’ve impacted lives in ways you probably don’t even see.
Thank you for building a ladder for us to climb.
