@oliverburdick It’s literally a cognate of al=the and Elah (Aramaic) Eloh (Hebrew) see (Elohim) …when Jesus said “my God” the word he used was Elahi (the i at the end making it possessive). This is all readily available but I don’t imagine you’ll admit you erred. So this is for ones who care.
@PresbyInn I could see why you’d make that error. The original 14th century manuscript does not have the word “Deum”. Some “reprints” did include that wording. I leave the why to you. God bless.
@autocorrect2_0@Vonnonomous The post said God has never accepted anyone’s obedience though. That’s inconsistent with what you just said of the OT is full of examples of obedience and disobedience Abraham ,Moses, Jonah, etc..
@autocorrect2_0@MyCup0verFlows Genuine question who is the intended audience of this? Who are you trying to reach? Which Christians is this meant for??
@RachelToRome@BeSaintly These guys are not Protestants. They’re evangelicals and severed from the roots. QProtestant at least acknowledge their roots and desire some sort of unity like Christ commanded. These guys are like ANTIFA…if they didn’t build it, don’t understand it, they’ll tear it down.
@autocorrect2_0 John 14:15 “if you love me, you will keep my commandments”
Keep is not observe here. It is more like intentional observance. Not in a legalistic manner like the Pharisees, but an obedience reflecting Christ’s example and teachings.
Respectfully disagree with the OP.
@Gremin34 @Deep_biblestudy I’ve been in your shoes. Great that you’re addressing this charitably and with dignity. You’ll notice most of these accounts are not interested in good faith dialogue. It’s like talking to the Antifa of the Christian world. Their only interest is tearing down and destroying.
