I did the brand identity for context(.)dev (YC S26) in 3 days
They're backed by YC and they needed the whole thing done fast
They didn't want to change their logo, but they wanted a completely new brand around it
So here's how the 3 days went
Day 1:
I did the mood boards. I made 4 different options so they could see a few directions, and they picked the one they liked the most
Day 2:
I made 3 visual identity concepts based on that mood board. Each one had 8 slides showing how the brand could actually look when it's being used
Day 3:
Once they picked a concept, day 3 was all about building it out. I extended the brand, made the brand assets and put together the brand guidelines, which ended up being around 34 pages
I also made a custom shader for them in those 3 days, which I'm pretty happy I managed to fit in
Honestly the project was tough. With a timeline that short you have to turn things around really fast and there's not much room to go back and forth
But it was fun and worth it

When founders reach out for a rebrand lately, a lot of them say upfront that the logo stays
What they actually want is for people to see them differently. The company has grown up, but the brand still looks like it did on day one
And the logo is a pretty small part of what people actually see. The rest is the site and every post you put out
That’s been a big chunk of my work lately, keeping the logo and changing pretty much everything else
