Google was always meant to be the ultimate assistant. It goes way back - I remember Sergey showing the Google app back in the days able to automatically convert money based on your location for instance. When I joined Google 10 years ago, there were thousands of people in the Assistant org! Now, at last, with the GenAI wave, the vision is to be fulfilled. No way this ultimate assistant is not able to help businesses power these calculators!
@davidhdev You could say the exact same for Lovable. The goal right now isn't pixel-perfection, it's zero-to-one velocity for the masses. And this is the worst the tech will ever be.
@whodoezthemalin@didierpulicani Il fut un temps où MobileMe était la risée des services de Cloud Storage, et pourtant aujourd'hui, iCloud est massivement utilisé - plus que Dropbox qui était la star de l'époque !
@Yuchenj_UW Screen understanding has been a thing for while in particular in mobile operating systems - used for accessibility. I guess the ultimate set-up is continuous on-device (therefore private) screen understanding in order to know when to fallback to cloud - upon user validation.
@ClementDelangue@huggingface This is great! Something else that'd be really nice for the Local AI ecosystem: creating a local unified GPU layer from all the hardware available at home - laptop, smartphones, etc - to extend the reach of local AI beyond what's possible on a single device.
Coming soon to Finegrain iOS: Ghost Mannequin tool 👻. The attached video is a screencast of our internal Factory 🏭 in action, but we'll add the new tool to the Fashion Resell studio - 100% on-device as usual!
@CamilleRoux Un version on-device serait bienvenue, avec des fallbacks sur le cloud quand nécessaire - à valider par l'utilisateur. Peut-être un aperçu de l'OS du futur?
AI is a great cure to laziness! At last - thanks to cron tasks in Gemini - I have my daily reports of interesting threads in Reddit, along with draft replies. I simply never bothered to do it manually.
@ayaboch Interesting. I was wondering if the upside of building distribution >> downside of getting copied. Your answer implies that building in public helped to start with, but got less important after a while?
