BREAKING: Michigan's superstar Governor Gretchen Whitmer torches Donald Trump for insulting and smearing the entire city of Detroit — proving that she'd make a great presidential nominee one day.

"Detroit is the epitome of 'grit,' defined by winners willing to get their hands dirty to build up their city and create their communities—something Donald Trump could never understand," Whitmer wrote on X. "So keep Detroit out of your mouth. And you better believe Detroiters won’t forget this in November."

Whitmer's post was prompted by remarks from Trump earlier today—

"I don't think that anything we're talking about today is high on our list. The whole country's gonna be like... You want to know the truth? It'll be like Detroit," Trump said during an appearance at the Detroit Economic Club.

"Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she's your president. You're gonna have a mess on your hands," he added. He claimed to his audience that "your car industry is going out of business. It's going out of business" and that a Harris win would be a "nightmare" for them.

He also insulted Detroit as a "once great city."

BREAKING: Republican candidate Nikki Haley goes scorched-earth on Donald Trump, torches him as "unhinged" and an "unsafe president" who doesn't "deserve" to be in the White House.

Haley will have a hard time walking these remarks back before the general election...

During an interview on the right-wing Hugh Hewitt Show, Haley ripped into the leader of her party in no uncertain terms. She is still clearly furious that Trump chose to insult her husband who is serving overseas in the U.S. military.

"When he leaves the teleprompter, he is unhinged," said Haley. "And everybody can say whatever they want to say, in terms of, ‘Oh, he was a great president.’”

But, she added, "an unhinged president is an unsafe president. And if you’ll go talk about those men and women who served us, you don’t deserve to be president."

It's worth nothing that the only people who think that Donald Trump was a "great president" are either MAGA fanatics or deeply uninformed voters.

Haley went on to call Trump's attack on her husband a "pattern" of abuse consistently directed at members of America's armed services — an unacceptable habit for someone who wants to be the commander in chief.

"This is about every military family who sacrifices and knows what it’s like to have their loved one deployed. And this is about a pattern of Donald Trump," said Haley. "I mean, he has said this before where he calls military members suckers or losers. We know that when he was at Arlington Cemetery, he said, ‘What was in it for them?’ He has never even been close to a military uniform."

"And for him to go and mock my husband or any of our men and women in the military, it shows how disconnected he is from the sacrifice, and what these men and women do every day not because they care for themselves, not because they do it for fun, but because they know that freedom isn’t free," she went on.

"And they’re willing to shed blood for it. And the idea that he’ll go and make light of something like this is exactly the reason we continue to have problems with him," she added.

Haley is spot-on this time. She would make an absolutely atrocious president (though not as bad as Trump) but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

More importantly, these attacks from Haley on Trump should be welcomed by anyone who cares about our democracy. She will almost certainly lose the primary to the MAGA cult leader, but any attacks she launches on him will stick around into the general election.

Every time Haley hits Trump, she helps Biden.

BREAKING: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez humiliates Speaker Kevin McCarthy over his bad faith debt ceiling claim that "Washington has to spend less." In reality, all he wants to do is cut crucial programs that help average Americans and then shovel more money to the rich.

AOC called out his hypocrisy directly and told him that if he really wants to spend less he should "undo the yacht and private jet tax breaks the GOP passed for themselves" because "single moms and veterans" shouldn't have to pay for Republican "giveaways to the rich."

Of course, that kind of spending cut is never on the table for the GOP because the entire purpose of their party is to make the rich even richer. They don't actually care about cutting spending, they care about hurting Democrats politically.

AOC ending her barrage by twisting the knife and pointing out McCarthy that doesn't even have the votes of his "own caucus." Bravo!
