Idk how you can blame Hocevar when the “best driver in the world” forgot what the green flag meant and stacked everyone up. The hates sometimes justified but idk what you’re expecting him to do here other than get run over himself
“We need a bridge payment to get farmers to next year when things won’t actually be better, but we have to pretend they will be, because otherwise we have to admit the truth, which is that we are keeping farmers and rural America on life support to keep extracting cheap food out of them to benefit the rest of the world, and to actually make things better for farmers and rural America would require a fundamental reshaping of the markets that farmers buy from and sell into and there are way too many people getting rich at the hog trough right now at the expense of agriculture and we can’t ruin that.”
Fixed it for the Secretary.
This bridge payment will do very little to actually help farmers. There’s no change, only cash that will likely be less than 50/acre, if they’re lucky, and will go straight to input providers.
Such great opportunity to do something different and they do exact same thing….
In the days when there was competition in the agricultural input market, businesses priced their products on their cost plus a margin. Today they price based upon what the market will bear. With little competition, they’re able to squeeze every penny out of farmer’s hands. Ag subsidies subsidize international corporations, not farmers.
🚨 “They funded my competition and killed my market.”
Trump’s Treasury gave $40 BILLION to Argentina — where Cargill is king.
U.S. farmers? Still selling below cost.
Don’t listen to what they say. Watch what they do.
🚨 The TRUTH about farm bailouts is OUT—and it’s worse than you think. 🚨
Over the last 8 years, the U.S. government has sent $130 BILLION in emergency aid to farmers.
Sounds good, right?
WRONG. The money isn’t going to farmers—it’s going straight to BIG CORPORATIONS. 💸
Here’s how it works:
Farmers like Adam and Scott get a "bailout."
But that money immediately goes to the corporations they owe for seeds, fertilizer, machinery—anything they need to farm.
Meanwhile, the cost of those inputs has TRIPLED since the 90s. 😡
Farmers are paying WAY MORE for the same things. But the prices they get for their crops? Barely enough to cover it. They’re breaking even at best. 💔
But the mega-corporations? They’re raking in huge profits. 💰
Monsanto and Bayer merged in 2015—and no one stopped them.
Now, a handful of companies control almost everything—seeds, fertilizer, machinery.
Let’s break it down:
Farmers might gross $500/acre.
But they’re paying $490 for inputs.
That’s how these companies inflate prices and squeeze farmers dry. 😤
And when farmers can’t make ends meet? These same corporations go to YOU—the taxpayer—for a bailout. 🤯
Instead of lowering prices, they’re laundering your tax dollars to keep their profits sky-high. 💸
The ag industry is a multi-billion dollar scam.
The government is just letting it happen. 😡
Farmers deserve better. It’s time to fight back and take control of our food system.
We the People must defend farmers, demand real reform, and break up these monopolies before they destroy the heart of American agriculture. ✊
Farmers need our support. Let's make our voices heard. 📢
What happens when the USDA doesn't cut yield in Jan, and just makes us go through the year only to cut yield in the Sept stocks report when we're all focused on next year's crop?
There is NO evidence that exchanging high fructose corn syrup sweetened cola for cane sugar sweetened cola will have ANY impact on human health. NONE. ZERO. @SecKennedy I invite you to produce ONE study demonstrating that substituting cane sugar for high fructose corn syrup improves health outcomes
We need to address the REAL issue that NO ONE in MAHA wants to touch:
The average calorie consumption in the US is 3540 kcal/day (FAO data) & the average physical activity is less than 20 min per day
THAT IS THE REAL ISSUE
