In 1998, Warren Buffett gave a 1-hour masterclass on how to never lose money investing.
His frameworks:
• The 10% ownership test
• Castle & moat thinking
• Circle of competence
• Why smart people go broke
12 timeless lessons from his masterclass:
1. The 10% ownership test
Leavitt: "President Trump convinced President Xi to continue purchasing again American soybeans, which is something China wasn't doing under the last administration because they had no respect for President Biden or the country at the time."
James Talarico just said what everyone else has been tiptoeing around:
“When did pedophilia become a partisan issue? Every name. Every flight log. Every cover-up. All of it.”
He’s not wrong, the American people have been demanding that honesty for years.
.@JamesTalarico: We've got to get to the bottom of this Epstein pedophile ring. We have to know who enabled it, who supported it, and who covered it up. This is not about right versus left. This is right versus wrong`
I’ll donate to Texas Democrats like @JamesTalarico and others fighting the GOP’s gerrymandering scam:
💰 $0.10 per like on this tweet
💰 $0.50 per retweet
💰 $1 per follow
(Starting at 86,373 followers)
It costs ~$500/day for each Dem to block the TX GOP from rigging the midterms.
Let’s help them hold the line.
P.S. If this blows up, I will cut y’all off eventually. 💙
Something is VERY wrong in America
Elderly server is in her 70’s “and she can hardly walk”
The table next to this woman asked “why she was still working,” she said “she only makes $910 a month on social security. And she has to still work because her bills exceed $910 a month.”
@PCreighton1 Why do think this offer is still on the table? The Astros haven’t really said if it is or not. They’re talking internally, but not to Boras, gives me the idea it isn’t. I don’t think Crane want to go over the luxury tax and they have made their moves to move on without Bergman.
My Current Houston Restaurant List is below. This is not based on what is best in the City after an exhaustive survey like Michelin, it is merely based on my experiences. It was inspired by the Houston Chronicle’s mean spirited clap back to French review’s recent Texas awards. There are plenty of great spots not on my list. Unlike some professionals (I am most decidedly a hobbyist), I do not take free food or drinks and I have not included anyone for any reason other than the quality of their food but price and accessibility both factor in my math. As noted, there are two places on this list I expressly do not enjoy the service/dining room experience at but the food is so good they cannot be left off.
Chef Ronnie Killen is on here three times. I have heard people complain that the quality of food and service of his eateries is not what it was when he was there running the show every day. I will never again experience Ronnie walking by my table and touching my wedge salad plate as it was set down to check the temperature and silently snatching it off the table to return into the kitchen and emerge minutes later with a brand new salad on an ice cold plate in a tired, slightly refurbished old icehouse twenty five feet from active industrial train track. I will never enjoy the envy of surrounding diners as Jason Finney sets up the chemistry set to prepare tableside Siphon Coffee for me and mine that was only available for the most regular of guests. But what I do experience is great, often exquisite food and solid service on a much, much larger scale that many of the other Texas BBQ “greats” could never hope to replicate.
Chef Horiuchi of Kata Robata and Katami is on here twice. Why? His brilliance is only matched by his dedication to the quality of his ingredients. He is a true master and should be acknowledged as such. We are awash in new ramen joints in this city, but his ramen is the best I have had anywhere including Japan.
Bori enjoys two places on the my list (steakhouse and BBQ) but it really deserves a third as the only Korean fare that I have included. The grilled at the table experience, despite its limited menu, is one of my two current favorite spots in my city (State of Grace being the other). At this moment, Bori, Candente, Goode & Co. Cantina and the bar at Kenny & Ziggy’s are the places I go to every single week and are the reasons why I can’t lose this last 25 pounds (I have to blame them or accept the reality that it’s my fault). Location is only mentioned when the specific business has multiple restaurants in the metropolitan area.
Riel is listed under Canadian fine dining because I do not know how to pigeonhole the mad scientist Chef Lachaine.
If you are visiting Houston, this list will definitely get you through your stay well fed.

MAGA,
As of today:
- Inflation 2.1%
- Unemployment is 4%
- GDP is 3%
- Manufacturing is booming, and only getting better.
The economic boom you're about to credit to Trump was brought to you by Joe Biden. And when it crashes, that will 100% be on Trump.
