Today, Palestinians commemorate the 50th anniversary of Land Day. A day of resistance against Israel’s colonization, land theft, dispossession, displacement, and ongoing Nakba.
Land is central to our collective identity, being, and survival as a nation. The land that we nourished with our hands for centuries holds the memories of our ancestors, the sorrows of our elders, and the future of our children.
Everyday is a Land Day in Palestine.

Children should be in classrooms.
Playing. Laughing. Dreaming.
Instead, they are fleeing bombardments.
1 million people have been forced to flee in Lebanon. 1/3 are children.
Every day, we throw away enough to prepare 1 billion meals — while letting 9% of humanity go hungry.
We cannot take food for granted.
Together, let’s build the zero-waste food systems we need to nourish both people & planet.
"I call on the US and Israel to end their attacks against Iran.
I call on Iran to stop attacking its neighbours, to respect & protect the human rights of its own people.
I urge restraint on all sides & implore the parties to conflict to return to negotiations." - @volker_turk
138 million children are victims of child labour worldwide, robbing them of their right to an education and threatening their future.
More must be done to #EndChildLabour.
Every year, millions of girls are forced into child marriage. The consequences are devastating.
Stand with girls and say #IDONT.

The groundbreaking report, authored by UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, affirms Israel’s genocide is:
- "A collective crime" made possible by the complicity of states that have "enabled longstanding systemic violations of international law by Israel.”
- Facilitated through "direct support, material aid, diplomatic protection and, in some cases, active participation.”
Debt is not destiny.
Africa’s nations shouldn’t have to choose between repaying creditors and building schools.
The G20 must back debt justice, investing in people, not profit.

🚨 BREAKING: Less than 24 hours after the Sharm El-Sheikh ceasefire agreement was signed and the summit concluded, Israel killed 9 Palestinians and injured 17 in Gaza.
Israel also announced it will close the Rafah Crossing tomorrow, suspending humanitarian aid until the bodies of Israeli captives are returned even though its own forces bulldozed burial sites and erased the area’s traces.
For 75 years, UNRWA has been the largest humanitarian organisation in #Gaza — delivering education, healthcare, and relief to millions.
Our teams know the communities, have the trust, and the capacity to deliver at scale in Gaza. To reach everyone in need, UNRWA must be part of the response.
#DecentWork is more than just a job—it's about respect, fairness, and empowerment.
Let's create workplaces that prioritize workers' rights, equal opportunities, and inclusive growth.
🤝Together, we can build a future with #SocialJustice for all.

Following the #ceasefire announcement, people are making their way back to Gaza City and the North using whatever means of transport they can access.
Many are returning to the rubble of their homes, as nearly 80% of structures have been damaged or destroyed.
People continue to face starvation, malnutrition, and a manmade famine, as well as lack of shelter and supplies.
UNRWA continues its essential services across the #Gaza Strip to support those in greatest need.
Investing in girls’ rights👏 is both a moral duty 👏 and a strategic choice.
On this #DayOfTheGirl, @UN_Women stands with every girl whose rights are threatened, whose voice is silenced, and whose leadership goes unrecognized.

Well-being is more than income. It is a multidimensional concept that covers all aspects of life that people value, from health and education to safety, environmental conditions, and more. New @UNECE guidelines propose way to measure well-being beyond GDP:
