The three weeks of our strike have been a busy time in Ontario politics, but two key voices are missing from the conversation. @spaikin and @jm_mcgrath sat down to discuss the state of affairs @tvo and how they'd rather be making the #onpoli podcast right now. #onpoli
What would @MatthewOMara be doing if he weren't on the picket line? He'd be getting #onpoli podcasts to Ontarians so they could hear @spaikin and @jm_mcgrath break down recent developments in Ontario politics.
And there have been a whole lot of recent developments!
It is important to note that during Premier Ford's biggest scandal in office, the provincial broadcaster, TVO, has seen its workers go on strike. That means the public doesn't get its in-depth reporting, smart panel segments organized by great producers, and informed columns.
+ 1 The folks who work at TVO are the best of the best & I really hope this is all worked out quickly. They need our support. They certainly have mine. Contribute here:
We @TVO_CMG are officially on strike. We're sad it came to this, but after nine months of negotiations, it became clear that the sides were too far apart to reach a fair deal. We hope to come back to the jobs we love soon. Please #SupportTVOWorkers as we fight for a fair deal!
So many more stories to tell. Starting today, I'm going to be working with @CMA_Docs, helping to create a newly formed health journalism initiative with @ellevogel and @sophienadeau. Excited to begin this new chapter!
Some personal news: Friday was my last day at
@CMAJ News. I've loved writing news and features for the journal and working with the great people there. Thank you especially to @ellevogel@KirstyPatrick@AndreasLaupacis https://t.co/exfIMYgXgV
And what started as a simple update on MAiD in Canada taught me a lot about what is necessary and sufficient when it comes to MAiD delivery, the ethics of it all, and how that stays with physicians https://t.co/YZOuCd5IPt
🎉🎉Huge congrats to CMAJ News journalist @dianaduo and editor @ellevogel whose feature on escalating violence in emergency departments is a finalist for the National Magazine Awards: B2B!
