Excited to share that I’ll be moving to Seattle for family medicine residency at Swedish Cherry Hill. Feeling SO much love and gratitude for my community here in the Bay. Very sad to be leaving for now…but also excited and ready to see what this next chapter will bring.

I’m on a ED rotation in a county hospital and every shift I watch as armed police officers patrol the halls, stand around making jokes, talking to the medical staff, using our restroom... and yet we wonder why our Black and brown patients do not trust us.

“I’m just scared, guys...So if I move y’all not going to shoot me. They’re not going to shoot me?” It is unconscionable that we in healthcare allow police to come in, and murder a Black patient, who came to us for healing, while we stood by and watched. https://t.co/lzhBmOKy4N

It’s unconscionable that we think it is normal to provide healthcare alongside police officers. It’s unconscionable that we even allow police officers to walk through the hospital doors, into this place where our Black and Brown patients are supposed to trust us, to be vulnerable
