@TheCinesthetic It's his best film ("Summer of Sam" being runner-up).

@briandelrosario @garrytan Agree with this take. Job creation isn't going to carry the day when arguing for why a community should host a data center. Kudos to you for getting tons of property tax revenue from them. Des Moines area DID NOT do this and the data center owners got huge tax abatements.

@schmak01 @ltnmiles @PalmerLuckey @SaltyreArt My 2025 Cx90 AC most certainly stops blowing cold air when it goes into "I stop" mode. My 2024 Sienna doesn't. I feel like people are talking past each other here- some cars seem to do a far better job at keeping air moving when engine shuts off.

@JoyceCarolOates I'd split the difference here and say "Tyson bite off part of Holyfield's ear".

@ParkerThayer @ChuckRossDC @jemelehill I remember someone tagging her after they had read the very convincing lab leak hypothesis from Nicholson Baker in NY mag. They were friends or acquaintances of hers and wanted her take. She wrote something like "it's bupkis". I immediately thought "oh she isn't a serious person

[AMP @dicepaine]

@JacobAShell Very interesting. Jacob are there any books (or papers) that present a more balanced take like yours on this topic? (I.e., one that is contra to the standard "The color of the Law"?)

@tsnmike @rollblers__ Why didn't Indiana State get in last year then? MVC regular season champs. 28 wins. Isn't Blers comment essentially giving this scenario we saw from last year?

"No argument: Drake needs to be in the NCAA Tournament, whether it gets it with an auto bid on Sunday, or via the at-large." — @MattNorlander on @DrakeBulldogsMB's case heading into Sunday's MVC championship game.

Christopher Lasch...

we demand too much of life, too little of ourselves

[AMP @dicepaine]

@AlecStapp I have asked this same question to many and have yet to get a viable respond. Guy isn't perfect, no doubt, but he has put himself out there for a long time and has an impressive record.

[AMP @dicepaine]

@charlesmurray @eyeslasho Charles did you meet or have any exchanges with Lasch? Just curious. Thanks

There’s something about each viewing of Vileneuve’s Sicario that always leaves me rattled. I can’t believe it’s been almost ten years since I first saw this, but I’ll never forget seeing Sicario in theaters- it’s just one of those movies. Regardless of how many times I’ve seen it, every rewatch feels as intense & as gripping as the last. Denis tapped legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins for this one and boy do these two mesh- their partnership brings Juarez & the enormous dangers of the cartel to life. Lead by The Three B’s (Brolin, Benicio & Blunt), the acting in Sicario is world class from top to bottom (see also Bernthal, Kaluuya, Garber). For me, this could be the best performance of Blunt’s career. Sicario is a violent, disturbing journey that’s not necessarily for everyone; but each time I experience this movie, I’m reminded that Villeneuve is simply a master of his craft.

@JosephPolitano @nvil23 😳

@nvil23 @TheRealXPac @jbs89 @vanderhorst1234 Today I just discovered what the greatest job in the world is- being an IU research assistant for Dr. Guntz.

[AMP @dicepaine]

@adamdavidson @b1leper Yeah, not like she totally went against his wishes in taking that job on the most recent episode. You got the whole show all figured out there don't ya guy?

[AMP @dicepaine]

@b1leper @adamdavidson Exactly my thought when I saw his tweet. She makes Jamie cower, survives explosions, and takes over investment firms. Arguably the most callous, intelligent, and powerful character in the show. But I guess people like Adam see what they want to.
