Also, I am not saying that LLM-based AI tools are useless. They are very useful.
We all use them.

But, by themselves, they are not a path to human-level AI.
Architectures that understand the real world are not LLMs.
The architectural components that enable current LLM-based AI systems to interpret images, videos, and other real-world signals are not LLMs.

When a private company seeks oversight from a government, you can be 100% sure that they believe they can influence the regulators to their benefit.

This movement -- and suspicious alignment between rivals frontier labs -- screams that competition is too tought and they are afraid that an open source model will eventually trump all frontier labs offers.

Regulation has always only helped protect incumbents. In any sector you look.
